I'll give you send location to car is useful, but you have to use the app every day to lock your car?? How are you that forgetful? Not to mention if you wanted to use the app to unlock the car is required a call to BMW and talking to a real person to prove your identity.

Uh.... then consider yourself one of the .001% extremely lucky ones. The app and it's features are just so clunky and very lacking.
It works for me all the time too

That'd be the day, but even when (if) BMW integrates with CarPlay or Android Auto you'll have to buy a new car. I'd love to be wrong and it's just a simple software update for all of us who have the latest iDrive systems...

It just me double checking myself haha. I'm so used to locking the car and hearing beep beep as a confirmation.
However, my F30 doesn't have the alarm thing and it doesn't beep

I just found one BIG flaw with the new app: when you search for a destination, it just lists them without showing them on the map like the old app. It is quite inconvenient for me. With the my remote app, I just have to pan to the area I wanna search, then do a search and it shows places within that area only. With this new app, it just shows those around me, like Waze

I used the scheduled drive today a few times and I like it a lot. I'm glad that BMW caught up with Waze in this feature. It notified me when to leave to arrive on time and it was quite accurate. When I got in the car, I just plugged it to the USB port, go to ConnectedDrive->Connected App and bingo, the drive is already there. I can also send a notification to contacts regarding the trip. Quite useful but I'm gonna do that on my phone if I have to because it's faster haha.

Now, only if they can improve the Navigation routing and algorithm . Or simply get the traffic from somewhere faster and more accurate, like Google Maps. Their current traffic info lags about 10-30 minutes most of the time, especially in rush hour. If they fix that within the next 1-2 years, I'll buy the new model with it

Did you ever work for BMW or is this just a coincidence?

It is funny I got BMW remote when it only available in Europe. It had more features back then on my 2006 330I then the USA version has for my 20011 M3. This new program is just a combo like everyone said. Wish they could of spent their research on something better.

Installed this today. Phone has to be plugged into car. Transfers addresses immediately to the car, which is nice as I couldn't do that before.

If you press the picture of your car then you can get to the honk horn, unlock, and turn fan on settings. Seemed to work fine for me. Old BMW Remote app on iPhone is now broken and didn't work for me.

I agree I'd love to see waze integrated somehow. Of course playing music over BT and using waze on the phone works great. I'm not sure any of these car companies will be able to ever stay ahead of phones. I'd prefer if I could just put my iPhone screen up on the main nav screen...but that will never happen

I could have swore there was a thread around here that said those were coming.

Why bother to do all this other work when there is a simpler solution.

Sunk cost in R&D and the want to continue keeping full control of the in-car entertainment system.

On top of this, you'll probably need to buy a subscription to BMW Assist...nothing is free.
