I have looked in couple websites and i have found RMEuropean Parts which has the BMW part for 365$ which is pretty good.

But i have order from ebay.uk a corteco part for 322$ - it should be same quality and sligtly cheapear.

Also there are other options on ebay.de, i was just tired from research and decided to get it from UK.

The Fluid Ampr guy was pretty active on the TDI forums and made a pulley for the TDI. Perhaps if there is enough interest he could design one for the M57?

I have the same thing. I assume it was just exhaust resonance now that there's a large empty cavity.

Yeah....had I known I was goign to be getting Febi when I purchased "OEM" I would have bought it from ECS....Im pretty pissed...but it was a bit of a gamble anyway..

yes, the box.... Looked pretty much factory packaged to me...

As for photos...Its pretty difficult to get good photos of this thing....its really flat black....but still shiny rubber, so flashes reflect, but there isnt a lot of contrast to get detail out of it, so you are kinda hosed no matter what you do... Maybe in broad daylight they would be better....but I doubt it...even when you have it in your hand you have to hold it a certain way to read the lettering

I work at an Indy that uses OE parts and a lot of the parts that I replace have the logos of the roundel and on Mercedes parts that were shaved off also but made by the same supplier that they would use (BMW and mercedes).

Edit: as shown on e46 m54 thermostat assembly few weeks ago.

welcome in the club of failure after failure car. this happened to me few months ago. i am lucky it didn't happen during the drive as yours because i drive fast on country side roads and this would be surely crash, but it happened just after the start up. burnt rubber, and no steering. not a cheap repair. then slightly before that my flywheel went to...another not cheap repair among many...so wait for that one too....the low rev lag is not a lag, but lost vacuum that you have in your system, and if your diagnostic didn't show what it is as mine didn't. you have to look manually part by part (actuators, pipes, egr) mine last one was a hole in an aluminium charger pipe from another hose that was from a constant friction with it....so good luck in stressful driving, because bmw didn't give a shit about putting quality parts lasting after their 5 year warranty.....i am glad there are many engine failures also within that warranty so they have to replace it, so bmw is losing money, coz they pieces of shit deserve it...
