Damn you. I didn't want to laugh at this but did. Now I have to go see a priest....

I was having a good laugh...why'd you have to ruin it?

I haven't seen a drop off in quality of the aforementioned products from those brands under that group, so you're right.

Saw a Rolm phone system in a Macy's store 2 yrs. ago. No lie, it's literally from maybe 1997. My buddy told me, in the NYC metro area, there are like 1 or 2 cos. who even know how to deal with Rolm, because some Wells Fargo branches still had them.

The one I went to, and usally go to, was built as a part of McCreless Mall in 1963. They tore down the entire mall EXCEPT for the Sears and I don't know if they've EVER refurbished it. They built a whole new giant shopping center there, some of it exactly inline with the old mall's footprint, and the Sears lives on.

It all went to hell when they started charging for the catalogs.

But a good reminder to check out some sales - I buy tools like chicks buy shoes - might not ever use them, but it makes me feel good to have 'em.

Then you definitely want to get those "surprise points" emails, you just sign up on the website.

I like to score Snap On in new condition on eBay. I believe that students get them for 65% off list, then pawn them, and that's how they end up on eBay...supposedly it's iffy if you can get serviced under warranty this way. But their stuff usually does not break. If lucky, I've gotten them 50-55% off list. Not sure if other bidders gave up or fell asleep or what. The reason I think there is a constant supply is the same seller will keep relisting a brand new S80A ratchet, same pic, and you'll see that usually it goes for $85...but sometimes one will slip through at $60, it did for me...
