Stress test the car first. Put a tune (MHD recommended) stage 1. See how the car likes it.
That way you'll know where to spend the rest of the money- Mods or Maintenance. Let the car tell you what she wants. Modding can go into so many different directions.

I do maintenance first regardless. Basics first- Fluids, Coils, and Plugs.

If she likes the stage 1 tune. reward her with some hardware upgrades. GL!

I like it... Going to pick her up from the Indy rn and I think that's what I'll do go ahead and order or buy one off a local tuner Indy and go from there, thanks this was helpful

Pulled weights out of your ass. Good job. Going from 29-31 lbs wheels, to a 18-21 lbs set makes a huge difference.

OP, check here if you're interested in wheel construction. Not saying you should buy wheels out of the gate unless your OEM 189s are bent, but just a good read: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/....jsp?techid=90

Fundguy completely forgot about quality of the material. Higher end wheels are less likely to bend or crack.

I already made my suggestion on the 3k budget. Savings, maintenance and basic tune + charge pipe, in that order.

32lbs for a 19x11 is NOT light. Here is what a proper forged 19x11 weight looks like. https://www.flickr.com/photos/jdmwhe...7629263406585/

Live your life a quarter mile at a time, huh? Your money, but blatantly stating you spent $25k on mods on a 230k 335i doesn't impress anyone if you think cast AGs are a good use of money.

You forget the concepts of unsprung and rotational weight loss. Any weight shed off the car is good, even better if it's not sitting on the springs, and more so if it's rotational weight lost. Braking, handling and acceleration all improve and even better when you pair them to a grippier tire. More noticeable on a daily basis than a few tenths off a 1/4 time.

OP, my suggestions were based on you already have a great looking example of an E92. You want to keep it running smoothly as it's already a great car stock then make it a beast, both in power AND handling. Also, try the local CCA events. Good to learn how the car handles ON the limit, OFF the street.

Here are some resources I've picked up while searching for OEM/OE parts.
- Realoem.com: Your source for BMW part numbers
- BMW p n p c.com: Remove the spaces, download the program, and use to search the best price for said part numbers
- rockauto.com: Most times, you can find who makes the part for BMW and get the same brand without the BMW tax (ex: Intermotor injectors, same as OEM with the BMW logo, much cheaper)
- fcpeuro.com: They price match, and offer a lifetime warranty
Who said the newer revised charge pipe was stronger? I said it was weaker. The 2008 pipe is a stronger rigid pipe. The 2010 is a thinner flexible material. Weaker. That's why he doesn't need to replace it yet on his 2008. Yet. After you break 17 psI you should.

2008 18" oem sport wheels package.

Front: 18x8 with 225/45-18
189 Wheel = 29.6 lbs.
Bridgestone RFT tire = 25
Combined = 54.6 lbs

Rear: 18x8.5 with 255/40-18
189 Wheel = 31.2 lbs.
Bridgestone RFT tire = 26 lbs.
Combined = 57.2 lbs.

My package
Front: 19x8.5 with 245/35-19
Wheel = 26 lbs.
Bridgestone RFT tire = 28
Combined = 54 lbs

Rear: 19x11 with 305/30-19
Wheel = 29 lbs.
Bridgestone RFT tire = 32 lbs.
Combined = 61 lbs.

HRE forged about 20 and 22lbs savings in 38 pounds rotating mass, or about 0.4 seconds in the qtr. Big whoop for another $4000. Deploying that $4000 towards power and suspension would yield much greater returns than wheels. Do the best bang for the buck first wheels are way down the list. Non rft and a tune would be a good example of better bang then forged wheels.
Think I'm gunna stick with my wheels for now as much as I don't like them, get new downpipes becouse I just found out that these downpipes on here now do not have a name brand and look like they are home made smh, and get a stage 1 one tune and push her a little and see if anything breaks or if the car takes it good along with some other tests I plan to do, before adding oil cooler, better tune, LSD, wheels.

Look into the MHD Flasher N54 thread in this section. Most capable flash tune out there and very reasonably priced + cost of Android phone/tablet & K/DCAN cable.

Update Indy says the body work is kind of a mess, internals look decent but turbo seals are going which would explain the light white smoke on acceleration and deceleration even tho it's not as much as I see in the videos, there's still some there.
Body wise I think I'm going to try to re align the peices myself but also not sure what to about the seals but that again it might not necicarlily be the seals.. Either way kind of a mess going to take this weekend to do damage control...
Still haven't found a good Indy really didn't like the one I brought it to

Where r u located? Sounds like you'll need turbos too. Rebuilt or better still bigger. They will eventually fail totally but the car will still go. So no urgency.

Southwest Florida, damn... That was my biggest fear having to replace the turbos, so much for mods. going to have it checked out more in depth to see if it's the turbos for sure but I'm pretty sure and if your telling me that's what it is then it probably is..
