I've said it before, and will say it again: The 330i with the three stage intake is the best all around version of the E90! Powerful, reliable, fun to drive, a total blast when the VTEC kicks in, yo! I kick around the idea of replacing it, but no rational reason to!

Same, my dual-mass flywheel started vibrating around 276 kkm (171 k miles). Replaced it with a Valeo single-mass flywheel and clutch kit (quite loud while idling, warm engine, warm weather. But with the clutch delay valve delete, the clutching part feels better than the original setup).

What are the symptoms of a DMF that's beginning to fail, or failing?

160K on my baby 330i; some weird clutch behavior like not wanting to go into first or reverse sometimes, and when it does I get a thud from the rear end. Otherwise the clutch feels great, no slipping, smooth and predictable engagement point.

That's probably the transmission fluid. Pretty sure a flush would fix it, mine has the same symptoms, seems to get better during this hell weather, will probably flush it one day.

It's a vibration as the engine revs in gear accelerating. Mine was up over 4,000 RPM.

I replaced the fluid about three years ago and it made no difference then, used Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75W-80 since that was listed as being compatible with MTF-LT-2.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
