Nice pick up

A smoke test with pressure was done. No boost leak. The car does have an oil leak at the oil filter housing. Is it possible that an oil leak can cause a vacuum issue, thus affect how a pneumatic waste gate holds boost pressure?

Nope. Did you get the upgraded DV on your PS2? Might be blowing it open.

Yep, got it. And the input pipe. I just heard back from Justin and he said the log I sent him from when I heard it cough and go half engine was hitting the boost target. My buddy should be done fixing the oil filter housing leak later this afternoon. Time to log some more.

Take a look at the log Ken posted on the mhd thread when you get a chance. Same turbo as you and at 86% wgdc the boost is around 26 psi

Something is seriously wrong now as I did a couple of 4th gear pulls and the boost is now down 10 psi from target. I am hoping something is loose from doing the oil filter housing gasket this week. Maybe something as simple as the charge pipe to the air chiller.

Well it's a pretty obvious sound if you are losing 10+psi. Stick your head out the window.

wh, prior to today it was like 2 psi. Not to mention that I won't be sticking my head out my window at 120 mph.

You have a log? Some very knowledgeable people on here, they might be able to help you.

You caught it early on houtan, the higher boost seems to have flushed it out. Hopefully while changing out the oil filter housing gasket, the work may have moved things around and made matters worse. As you know the port injection offsets things to the right (from the front), and messes around with the connections. I'll let my guy figure if out.

Well you have to losen the intake manifold, probably PI plate as well, to get the 3rd OHF bolt. So maybe they forgot to tighten the manifold when finished.

The connection between the IC and the charge pipe was found loose, real loose. Unfortunately on my way home a moron decided to play Frogger by making a left by first attempting to go across three lanes of rush hour traffic. The large SUV in the right lane slammed on her brakes and barely missed him. As I was on her left side slightly offset I did not see him until too late. My front end is crumpled some, but it looks like the engine will be unscathed. I did find out that my recalled air bag does in fact work, as did three other ones. Hopefully his insurance will do the honorable thing and make things right.

Thanks houtan. While it isn't something that will buff out, I was assured that it can be fixed by bolt on stuff and paint. The accident report clearly blamed the other guy, so I am clear on that. Unfortunately on a Car Fax I have had a wreck, which devalues my precious ride.

I have my ride back and she looks just as good as she did moments before the crash. In some ways better.

I did a few logs last week and it was pulling timing. Even after I shut off the BEF. My concern was did something on the engine break, even though it all appeared unscathed? After looking at both sets of logs Justin sent me a new tune. I made more runs and sent them in yesterday. He sent me a new tune to load. Will get it in tonight and hope to get some logs in the next day of so.

Is it possible that the boost leak I had all along was affecting the tune the entire time as we turned up the boost? Since the boost was pretty much spot on until 24 - 26 psi, where it finally dropped by 10 psi, I am wondering if Justin may have been unknowingly fighting that as he turned up the power. Then after the fittings were set right things were wrong because of that. Obviously not his fault, but I am wondering if the sensors and ecu can possibly compensate for a small boost leak to hit the target. Regardless, the guy is turning my ride into a animal via emails. Anyone still on the fence, do the MHD tuning for whatever hardware you have. You'll quickly regret that you hadn't done so sooner.

A small boost leak will make the car run rich, so yes it can mess up your tune. If he tuned for the rich condition, then it will now be lean with the leak fixed. If he hasn't noticed any problems, then I would say you are in good shape!

I've been working with Justin to tweak my Map 6 tune. She runs beautifully... fast.

I read on another thread that MHD is close to putting out a bluetooth connection. If it does what the JB4 one does I'll upgrade my PI controller, can my JB4, and go with an MHD custom tune. Am I asking too much for it also to take information from the e85 unit and adjust the tune accordingly to the mix.

I'll see about making some runs this weekend. The three logs I sent Justin were my 2nd through 4th runs since the last flash.
