is it true you can just cut the wire to the LED and it wont throw a code because the voltage to it is so insignificant.

i had an idea and maybe someone out there with some electrical knowledge might help out
the idea is to use a 5 pin relay and to feed the positive input AND the relay coil with the wire coming from the headlight plug that is supposed to go to the turn signal that way when the turn signal bulb is only getting 2.5v ( i measured it) in DRL mode the relay would not energize and the bulb would not be getting any power but when you used you turn signals the relay would get 12v and would energize and the bulb would turn on so that way you don't need to run any wiring to the side turn signals and no wiring would be visible in the engine bay everything would be inside the headlight when the DRL mode is on (dim orange light form the turn signal) i can wire a 1.25ohm 10 Watt resistor so the car thinks that the bulb is still connected and it doens't throw a bulb failure light so for a 5 pin relay pin 85 is ground pin 30 is the wire coming from the head light plug inside the headlight pin 87 is going to the bulb 87a is the 1.25ohm 10 Watt Resistor (other side is connected to ground) and pin 86 is connected with pin 30 so the power coming from the headlight plug both triggers the relay and gives power to the bulb thoughts? |

ok i tried you do lose the turn signal but it still sees a bulb failure i tried with 1.3ohm (which is what i measured the resistance of the OEM bulb at) 2.6 Ohm and 5.6Ohm (which gave a bulb failure quicker) so i don't know how to move from here when the turn signal is working i dont get the error and the relay works perfectly i looked at both sides and they flash at the same rate so once we get over the bulb failure warning it should work flawlessly i guess we need someone who has access to the electrical troubleshooting manual how do they test of you have a bulb failure is there a given resistance? or is by current consumption? no idea |
