Wasn't expecting any feature upgrades but the 2017-2 maps actually come with proper lane guidance for each turn now which is a welcome bonus I always have the split screen on with turn by turn directions shown when navigating, now get lane guidance at the bottom for every turn where there is more than one lane, that wasn't there in 2017-1! For example:

How is that feature enabled mate? I updated last week, but not tested fully yet.
I've have lane guidance on motorways which I'm pretty sure I had with the 2017-1 maps but I've not seen this type of guidance.

Could you post a screen shot of your settings?
Yes lane guidance pop up for motorway junctions is totally different, that was there on previous map. I'll try and remember to take a look tmrw

The large bright screen up near the windscreen is very distracting and better turned off unless using nav, especially when dark (even on lowest brightness at night it's far brighter than it needs to be)
Ditto - Button 8 switches the screen off and I've got Button 7 switching to night colours.

settings are here, think you need "arrow view" turned on for the split screen?

I'll admit I prefer night view as it's much darker however in order to get traffic display on the map (ie red roads when problems/yellow if only slow moving traffic etc) you need the grey map view which is a bit annoying - I'd rather have traffic issues shown when using nav and just turn the screen off when not... That said I haven't bothered renewing my connected drive so only get TMS traffic data which is a bit rubbish, not a total disaster to have no traffic on map. If BMW could get their act together and get proper traffic data on all roads (like google maps for instance) I'd happily pay for connected drive again but with BMW it only works on major roads so most roads that could catch me have no data. Would be nice if the AUDI, BMW, Daimler, Intel, HERE get together could lead to improved data for the connected drive service but I highly doubt it :(

Hi guys, I am looking to update to 2017-2.

From the screenshots on here, it looks as if most people have either West or East, but when I look for my version, it just says Europe? I've attached a picture.

I'm just confused which one I need to get?

I think the maps got too big at some point after 2013 and they had to split into east/west to keep the space down. Unlikely I'll ever take this car abroad so no problem for me, in fact the split probably speeds up map load times quite a bit, loads less data I'll never need. There's a file inside the torrent if you want to see what countries are covered by each

I believe that for my 2012 CIC car I need the "3 USB" Europe West 2017-2 version and not the "1 USB" version which is in the link in the first post.

Does anybody know where I can get the 3 USB version?

Many thanks.

Same page, about 4 links above the 1 USB version.

I know because I downloaded the 3 USB version by mistake.

Why do you need the 3 usb version? Don't have a 32gb usb stick? Both the same data, just a lot less hassle using the 1 usb method. I loaded via 3 usb last time as it became available first but both should work

Yes, I do have a 32Gb (and many higher capacity) USB stick.

But last time (2017-1) when I tried to upgrade using the 1 USB version, it wouldn't work for me, and reading about the issue it seemed to suggest that the 1 USB only works on NEXT version, not on my 2012 PREMIUM CIC version.

Now perhaps I was just unlucky last time, and the 1 USB version that I had downloaded was somehow corrupted.

Obviously I'd be much happier using the 1 USB version (much less hassle swapping files from directory to directory) - are you certain that it should work in my car, though?

Make sure the USB is formatted as FAT32, not NTFS, not ExFAT (what Win7/10 will give you).

There are free tools online to allow you to format the USB drive to FAT32

Here's one - https://m.en.softonic.com/app/fat32-format

Once you have the single USB map update on a properly formatted drive I guarantee it will work.

Mines a 2009 CIC and I updated to 2017-2 the other week. Initially I formatted to ExFAT cos I forgot that wouldn't work and had to redo the stick again properly which irked me at the time but the car wants what it wants and that's FAT32

Thanks. Yes definitely using FAT32 and not ExFAT, so perhaps I was just unlucky with 2017-1.

I've already downloaded 2017-2 as a 3 USB version, so I'm not going to download another 18Gb just to test it out, but when the next update (2018-1?) arrives, I'll try the 1 USB version.

I'm on cic, definitely works with 1 or 3 usb versions if you download the right torrent, must have been unlucky

Interesting. I've got Premium Nav and I've usually updated using 3 USB, but I can't remember what I did last time but I suspect it was 3 USB(2017-1). Anyway, this time I downloaded the 3 USB and went to update and it stated wrong version. I downloaded the 1 USB and it updated fine.

I downloaded the 1-USB version and put it on my SanDisk 32Gb USB 3.0 flash drive. My 2011 car would not recognize there was a USB inserted so the update would not work. A friend who has a 2010 car downloaded the same file and put it on his 64Gb SanDisk USB 3.0 flash drive and his CIC picked up the stick and that there was an update available, and he succesfully installed to 2017-2 from 2010! I borrowed the same stick and my car also updated fine. Both USB sticks were formatted in FAT32 with same cluster size by the same software, so I can only assume it was the chip inside my stick that my car wasn't happy communicating with for some reason. Just an FYI in case anyone else has a similar issue.

UPDATE: The 3 USB version failed for me with an error message: Navigation data incomplete or has been manipulated. Please have the system checked by Service.

So I downloaded the 1 USB version, and it worked first time, and I'm now on 2017-2. Happy bunny, and I now know that I can use the 1 USB version in future.

(Interestingly, 7-Zip gave me the same error message when trying to extract both the 3 USB and 1 USB versions - There are some data after the end of the payload data - although this didn't seem to affect anything).

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but the 2017-2 version also shows how many miles to go until your next instruction. I had 2013 maps before and it didn't do that. Dunno about the ones in between, but I'm so glad about this.
