Bimmer Tech stopped doing NBT kits due to the amount of issues that can pop up. I am doing a NBT completely DIY in my car but I do not think I am going to offer any customer kits. To do a 100% perfect retrofit with the amp, ATM, etc you will be pushing $3,000.

Who is going to pay $3,000 for basically Apple car play on a $10,000 car?

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have an e90 with Harman kardon audio. I am looking to do the nbt Evo retrofit, but I need an f series amp with the plug for the navigation. What cars/part numbers should I be looking at for this amp and what would be best for my current system?

Thanks!

The old HK amp will work just fine for audio, but there will be echo in the mic for people you call, which will make phone calls basically useless.

I think any f series HK amp will work... I grabbed one from a 2012 F30 328i that had CIC. Nick's was from a 7 series.

Even with an F amp, I still had echo. I had to flash my amp with newer software to fix the echo.

I had issues w/the F series amp echo, too.

What software is needed, and how is it updated/flashed?

I used e/sys connected to the Evo while it was in the car, with the amp hooked up via the standard MOST link.
I followed one of the standard guides for flashing the software for a single module on any F car.

I have a Harman Becker F30 amp from a 2012, and didn't have any trouble. Nick has an amp from an F01 7 series (LEAR I think) and e/sys doesn't seem to want to update it for some reason.

Ebay prices for these amps are a bit nutty... I still see them for 500 bucks there. Mine was $50 from a parts yard.
