Evo X, Civic Si, IS350, C350, A4 2.0T/A3 2.0T are the cars I would consider--I know Civic Si seems outa place but I've always wanted one, and will most likely get one when I'm older.

you know i'm actually starting to look at it. the looks dont appeal to me whatsoever but that $16k sticker price does.
what's so great about it besides the gas and mileage?

But it also gets great gas mileage, is actually a lot roomier then most believe, quite fun to drive, low cost of ownership, and hell its honda so you know its reliable. Not to mention i JDM and the amount of aftermarket support for this car is great |

Seriously consider the GTI...!
For $700-$800 dollars you get 250 HP and 260 TQ You could get better results if u decide to put in higher octane... Just a simple reflash on the ECU and that thing goes. Bunch of my friends had low 14's at the drag with the reflash It will be faster than a stock 328's. The only downside is that its a FWD but all the cars you've listed are FWD's too. Just give it a shot and I'm sure you will consider it. Civic Si is a great choice too... Hey, best of luck though... it cant be a joyful experience but heck get a f430 when u r in a better financial situation! |

i think the volvo s40 is a hot car. i was actually gonna get that before i heard of the at the time "new" e90. but the new s40 is sexy. the new c30 is nice too, more hp than the s40 (s40 base : 168hp , c30 base : 227hp turbo )
or maybe a scion tC. that is cheap... or civic hybrid. 45mpgwtfftw!

if i sold my E90, I would get an E30 325i in good condition(3-5k) and not have a monthly car payment plus insurance would be cheap. E30's are still fun to drive, and last forever if maintained properly.

When you go for a test drive...you will be surprised at how light the clutch is (comparison to the 3er) and how decent the handling is for such a cheap car. Take off from the line is actually decent...again it's definately no rocketship and you still need to mash it to get up to speed...but compared to other cars in its class? Very decent. Interior is top notch for such a budget car. And the seats all fold down for "lounge" effect so you can lie down in the car. For my friend...that seems to be a very important factor...for the ladies... Photos of the new Honda Fit And the old Honda Fit |

This is what I did to get my new BMW - I drove a used Ford Explorer for five years while I saved money, and I bought my 2006 BMW 330i (Navi, ZSP, ZPP, Steptronic) cash ($48,000 including destination and tax).
Yeah, it was bad while I waited, but now I own it and I don't have any payments except for the insurance. I'm saving for my M3 now (circa 2011). |

About the IS250, my sister drives that and I have taken the car out a couple of times. I don't know how old your boss is but that car really has no power. You literally have to red line it every time to get even a hint of power. That being said though, i have noticed that from a rolling start the car actually has decent acceleration. And plus, its a small 4 door thats fun to drive around in and it looks good! |
