So are you saying that now with the new software the cars are putting out LESS than 300 HP? I seriously doubt that, even if BMW did reduce HP from before... |

We should have some benchmark the 29.2 to see if there is a definite drop in HP...

BMW opened up the wategates way more, during idle completely open, take some strain off the turbos. Well thats not exactly what I was told when I bought the car now is it.

Hell, all BMW has to do is give us better performing software. Judging from the people who got upgraded to 29.2 and noticed the lag they didn't have before (and of course because of what we know is causing it), it can all be put back with a flash.

For Christ's sake, if BMW were to do it right, w/ all v29.2+ vehicles (new and existing), they'd install or retrofit one of these w/ clear instructions in the manual to press around 3k rpm...

Does anyone know if the way the car performs after the 29.2 update would do anything to reduce the stress on the HPFP or the turbos? I can't get past the thought that maybe this progman version is to help with the wastegate, turbo or HPFP problems that a lot of the cars have been having. It is a lot cheaper to do an ecu update than to change an engine component.

I also seem to remember something in their ad campaign regarding how low in the RPM range the car made 300ft/lbs of torque. If it spools up so much later that won't be true anymore either.
Watch them be lowering the performance in order to sell the original software as their performance flash. I believe Mazda had to refund a lot of deposits on the RX-8 for not being able to deliver the level of HP they announced initially. Not sure if any actually made it to the consumer before they corrected the advertised hp though. |

Y'all with 29.2 know what a crock this is now. Want to put your fist through your dashboard? Try flooring the car at 1400 rpm in third gear, hell, even second. You can take a short nap, then wake up, then the car will start to accelerate properly. So frustrating.
Again, it's a shame we are all posting and posting here with ZERO more info on an actual damn version 30.0. False thread start I assume. Not sure if I mentioned it, but I talked to Jonathan (JSpira) and he has no knowledge/confirmation of any V30.x existing, and he pretty much knows everything like that. I'm REALLY close to wasting my friggin time and going to my dealer and saying: "I'm sick of this. I don't know what the hell you can do about it, and I know it's not directly your fault, but this sucks. Give me the keys to a non 29.2 335 on the lot, and let's go for a drive, then we'll go for a drive in mine. Then you tell me why I paid $47,000 for this thing when I could have kept my $25,000 and paid-off WRX." |

Maybe BMWNA is reading posts that talk about how <10k in mods will make a 335i faster than the new M3 both in a straight line and on the track. |
