This service allows you as a BMW Assist subscriber to use MyInfo to send business listings and street addresses found in Google Maps to your vehicle: Simply search for businesses or street addresses on Google Maps and send the listing to your BMW.

How can I send business listings or street addresses to my BMW?
Just search for a business or street address in Google Maps and click on the Send link in the orange bar at the top-right corner of the mapTW. Choose the 'Car' option, select 'BMW', select the country of your BMW Assist subscription, enter your BMW Assist account name (your e-mail address on file with BMW Assist in the USA and Canada) and click Send. Optionally, you may also add a personal message and a telephone number to an address.

When you get into your BMW, simply go to the MyInfo section within the BMW Assist menu and select the listing desired. You can now call the phone number directly with your Bluetooth® connected mobile phone or if your BMW is equipped with a navigation system you can immediately start route guidance.

Where does it work?
Google MyInfo is currently supported for BMW Assist subscribers in the United States (including Puerto Rico), Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Austria and Italy. Availability may vary from model to model*.

Do I have to pay anything to send business listings to my car?
Absolutely not. If you are a BMW Assist subscriber this feature is already included. Neither Google nor BMW will charge you for the destinations sent.

Can I send data from Google Maps to a BMW which is not mine?
Absolutely. Just enter the corresponding BMW Assist account name (their e-mail address on file with BMW Assist in the USA and Canada).

What if I don't want my BMW to receive destinations from Google Maps?
Yes, Google MyInfo can be disabled for your BMW*. Disabling MyInfo will prevent destinations from being transferred to your BMW, but will still allow the use of all other BMW Assist services.

Why did my destination not reach the car?
Please check if the BMW Assist account name was entered correctly, a valid BMW Assist subscription is in place and that MyInfo has not been disabled.
For more information about BMW Assist and Google MyInfo, please visit BMW Assist.

* Please check country specific availability and functionality in your BMW with your local BMW center or visit BMW Assist for further information.

The key is to make sure you include a PHONE NUMBER with the address. Even if it's just 555-555-5555. For whatever reason, Google sends off the info, but BMW Assist computers won't send it to the car without a phone number.

Don't know if anything has changed, but now all my addresses make it to my car (w/ a phone number).

Good Luck
This isn't true at all. I send addresses to my car through google maps all the time and I NEVER include a phone number. I've also never had trouble receiving the address.

You have to have your email addressed registered with BMW Assist. Hit the BMW Asisst button in the car and make sure they have the correct one.

I have a 2007 *production* 2008 E93 and it says the message goes thorugh, but there is no *my info* in BMW assist.

Hmm. I thought the phone number thing might be the trick. But it didn't work for me. I've sent many addresses and have only received two. Not sure why...

Once again, this will not work on Pre-LCI cars. You have a CDMA BMWAssist module that is not capable of receiving this information. You need the GSM module that was added with the LCI.

No. Once again, not available before the LCI. The LCI is the mid-cycle refresh that occurred with the 2009 MY. There is no way I know of to get Myinfo to work with your car.

The TCU GSM hardware that support MyInfo is there is some MY2008 from 04/08 production in the USA (my 05/08 production M3 do have a GSM TCU), is the software that it isn't. Canadian 3-Series from 04/08 do have MyInfo available using the same TCU hardware as in the USA but with the proper iDrive software/carrier support althought they are pre-LCI.

This could be more of a contract limitation due to cell carrier switchover (Verizon to AT&T) for MY2009 than a GSM technical issue. When I asked the Assist people if there are any plans to expand the MyInfo services in the USA for those 04/08-on production models they said that they know about this but no decision has been made yet. And most probably it will not be expanded, as the pre-LCI iDrive firmware most probably will not be updated for any major changes/features anymore, only for bug fixes as it is simply past their product lifetime.

That's the distinction that has to be made to clarify all these conflicting posts.

Wow. This is an interesting post.

How do you know you have a GSM TCU?

Contracts couldn't be an issue. If you have GSM the provider is AT&T, not Verizon. So your contract has been with AT&T from the start.
