**Warning...do not read if you haven't seen the movie**
Ok so the batmobile blows up...does that mean he gets a new one? I remember Fox saying in the first one that they built two to jump and make a bridge...btw when he turned his bike using the wall it was so badass..lol On another note, I think Bale over did the Batman voice...it seemed too weird...the only person who nailed this was kevin Conroy from the animated series. Also, I felt bad for the stunt guy who had to jump off the van into the the concrete pillarat the beginning. There was no camera angle or nothing....as a person who's jumped outta a bus before, lemme tell you it sucks regardless of speed. I remember that one of the stunt dudes broke his ankle during filming...any ideas as to which scene?? On another note, I saw I am Legend in IMAX just to see the first 6 minutes of TDK. I couldn't find tickets in IMAX and wanted to watch it real bad so I went to a normal theater. Let me put it this way, after 2 minutes I was debating about leaving because the movie didn't look as good/clear and involving as the IMAX. You better believe I'm gonna watch this thing in IMAX as soon as I can.

Bale; His bat voice sounded like McGruff the police dog, outstanding performance nonetheless.
Eckhart; I felt like he was too animated for this role. I felt like his acting style isn't consistent with the dark & dismal theme. Gyllenhaal; I like that they chose a non-predictable actress to play this role. Though Katie Holmes was a great fit for Batman Begins, I would think Holmes would've made this picture a little too dark. Gyllenhaal fit exactly the producers wanted, a non bombshell but subtle seductive woman. Ledger; Absolutely the best performance he's done in his whole career as an actor. He was the best villian in all batman series, ever. Overall rating: a must watch!

Joker was simply awesome. I love the movie but would have liked more action scenes with Batman. The story was great and I liked how they could possibly do another one..

when i left the theater i thought it wasn't as good as it was cracked up to be. batman begins had a very cool thing going in that you saw how he became batman and there was a theme of him remembering stuff from his childhood that gave batman depth. In this movie, batman wasn't that interesting - they tried to give him some depth through this philosophical babel and his internal conflict with his moral code - but all in all, batman just wasn't an intersting character. and, although i like Bale usually, I didn't like him in this movie. As someone said upthread, the best batman voice was the animated series.
Joker was amazing of course, but Eckhart blew me away even more, and was really the focus of this movie. Gillenhal was so barely there, she was non-existent. So like i said at the beginning, I walked out thinking it wasn't as great as it was cracked up to be. But since then, i've found myself thinking about the movie, which is not something most movies let you do. So all in all, it was a great movie. I think i might see it in IMAX. |
