This raccoon does create an opportunity to fuck with the dog using a new toy I ordered on Amazon. Everyone once in a while he thinks his squirrel toy is real for some reason so this should be fun to see.

Tomato juice works ok in a pinch, what works really well is hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap.

Ok guys, obviously that is a given concern but you can avoid that.

OP is seeing them in broad daylight, why not just have the sandwiches ready and cut into small bite pieces. Once the raccoons approach just throw a few at them. This way you ensure they are consumed.

Been there, done that and it worked well. Problem was that the dog got sprayed in the face, so he had skunk breath for over a month!

And be cautious of raccoon's feces as they may contain a bacteria. Once the feces dries up and is disturbed, bacteria gets airborne and potentially inhaled by a human.
I hope you haven't done that to an animal, its hardly a humane way to do it.

There are three stages seen with ethylene glycol poisoning:

Stage 1: This occurs within 30 minutes to 12 hours, and looks similar to alcohol poisoning. Signs of walking drunk, drooling/hypersalivating, vomiting, seizuring, vomiting, and excessive thirst and urination are seen.
Stage 2: This occurs 12-24 hours after a dog or cat has gotten into antifreeze, and signs of “alcohol” poisoning appear to resolve, when underlying severe internal damage is still occurring. Signs of drunkenness seem to improve, but signs of an elevated heart rate, increase breathing effort, and dehydration may start to develop.
Stage 3: In cats, this stage occurs 12-24 hours after getting into antifreeze. In dogs, this stage occurs 36-72 hours after getting into antifreeze. During this stage, severe kidney failure is developing secondary to calcium crystals forming in the kidneys. Severe lethargy, coma, depression, vomiting, seizures, drooling, and inappetance may be seen.

I love my Jack Russell but he is a challenge. He has been sprayed at least 10 times by skunk so were pretty good at detoxing him. He's gotten into it with Racoons on a few occasions to.

He got a hold of a skunk in the back yard about 2 years ago and wouldn't let hit go. Once he finally let go, he started vomiting skunk juice and then shitting it out.....that was a memorable night. Bosco soaked in tomato juice

No game cam - that was with my cell phone, lol. He comes up and sleeps on the porch sometimes - we have little box beds for the critters. There are also 2 huge opossums that pretty much live there too and several cats.

We call them the 'porch pets'. Our indoor cat watches them like it's cat TV.
Game camera has been my most entertaining home investment. I've gotten a bobcat, skunks, foxes, fisher cat, etc. Waiting to get a bear or mountain lion as they are around. I usually just get tons of deer though. One of my neighbors feeds them so there is literally a heard of cows, I mean deer (they look like cows now) wandering the neighborhood 24/7.

Not a lot of exotic animals in Niagara on the Lake, we have a squirrel convention in our back yard everyday with our bird feeders, I have a couple that will take peanuts out of my hand. My wife has named one of the Marlene (my ex wife) because it has a turned up nose and is really pushy.

We have two full grown Norwegian Elk Hounds in our fenced back yard.

It didn't take long for most of the wild animals in our area to learn that was a kill zone. They aren't mean by any measure....but they play very rough.

Last toy they got was a huge black snake. I tried to get it from them as I usually relocate non- poisonous snakes.....but they played tug of war and ripped it in half.

I reckon others in your area have probably dealt with this problem already. Ask your neighbors if they've ever had any problems with coons and what they've done about it.

Here are a few pics that I have on this PC from the last couple years. The camera was set up behind my garden in the back yard, then on the side of the house for a bit. Bobcats, Coyote, Fisher Cat, Fox, and Turkeys so far.

Kinda neat to see what's back there.

I pissed a racoon off once while at the BMW dealership. It decided to troll by and get onto a newly delivered car. I scared it from the other side of the glass and it got angry. Kept scratching at the glass for some reason.
