Well he's getting a p0159 code, wonder if that has anything to do with him running the car without an o2 sensor.

Disconnected vacuum line for wastegate won’t give 30ff but engine won’t boost.

Haha just checking :P

Please check your boost solenoids. Smoking car is a whole nother issue, mine smokes too from time to time.

Another DIY I found that was helpful for me, even though you don't have 30ff.

hey I checked my solenoids and everything is great. did you ever check to see if your back inlet was sucking in air?

Since you started this thread-

Have you disconnected the rear inlet from the turbo and drove the car to see if power is back to normal?

Have you inspected the rear inlet for any portion of it being collapsed?

It might look fine until the turbo starts to spool and creates enough vacuum on the inlet to collapse it.

No I checked underneath it and it looked like it was firmly on there. Should I take it off and reposition it? it starts to build boost and then it just lets it all out

Firmly on means nothing as far as the problem you're describing. Loose/tight doesn't matter in this case.

You said the problem started when you installed the inlets, so the point here is to determine if there is a restriction in the inlet to rule it out as a possible cause for your lack of power. Once you actually test this by disconnecting it from the turbo and making observations, you can then move on to the next step of diagnosis.

Someone here already said this, but check to make sure neither of your inlets collapsed. Check this one asap.

Check that your chargepipe and IC connections are good too. Although if you ran a smoke test and didn't see anything, this one isn't an immediate concern, just easy items to check

With the car running, disconnect the hoses from the Vacuum tanks up front (right side). You should hear a relieve of pressure/air flow. If you do not, there is a vacuum leak somewhere.
When I had a 30ff, the culprit was a vac hose from the Boost solenoid to the rear turbo right near the wastegate connection. We only caught it because we saw a wisp of smoke come up. Tested the hose and found it wasnt holding any vacuum. And upon removing it, we found it was so brittle, applying slight perpendicular pressure to it snapped it like a dry twig. It is possible one of your hoses has dried out and you cracked it when bumping something during inlet install

Have you changed your Boost solenoids? If your car is at the average mileage that these cars are usually at, and are still on the stock solenoids, do change them, They're are past their interval. They're like $110 each, and there are 2. But if you're tight on budget you can rule this out using a vac test

you're right. One thing I also noticed was some oil was coming from the rear Inlet but only a small amount? i'll try taking off the Inlets and reinstalling it

The inlets might have collapsed or closed somewhere causing a blockage? I read a recent thread about this on here that ended up killing the poster's turbos as well. Double check the install?

So just some extra info on the VRSF collapsing inlet issue

This is allegedly caused by incorrect install of a directional clamp. Not that it just randomly fails.
