They're not allowed in the M anymore. They have to use community bus.

Betty had incontinence in my bucket seats, plus it was starting to smell like a people's home taking them to day centre every Wednesday...

I don't have my car anymore to check.

If you have bluetooth and buisness nav, and you can press the voice button to use your phone then you should have the correct unit.

Can you not take a picture of it??

When you search that part number it just says TCU (telematics control unit) which doesn't answer if it is the right one or not??

Have you got voice??

Yeah I think that is the one.

Your dealer will be able to confirm from that part number.

In the US they do not use the MULF HI for phone as it doesn't work with their assist and networks properly. Where as in Europe we can use it for everything.

UPDATE:
The dealer has been been unable to confirm if this unit is suitable as it is listed as a TCU and not a MULF but he also said that the MULF was never fitted on post 07/08 cars. BMW UK tech support just referenced back to the PDF stating the MULF2 Hi.

However the TCU aparrently replaced the MULF and is included with option SA633 and includes Telematics / Bluetooth / Voice.

Audi's were so much easier to retro fit things to!

Could someone with a late model car with usb please check for me?

I had a little winge to the dealer about not offering me this when I ordered my car, after I had asked for it, and instead selling me the iPod control in the glovebox. They came back today and said, we'll ift that for you Sir for £1100

F**k me it aint worth that.

You can buy an MULF2 Hi from www.ebay.de for under €180 delivered if you don't have one already.

You can then buy the retrofity cable from BMW for £130.

Any gagarge with autologic can then code your car, normally 1 hour, worse case 3 hours. Most garages charge around £50-60 per hour.

These dealers are fucking stupid, we had all this with the voice retrofit on E60's.

They are meant to charge half and hour for the coding, the coding itself may take up to 5 hours, however, the are only meant to charge for the man hours, so 15 minutes to set the system up, and then another 15 minutes to confirm the coding and test.

They all seem to be quoting the full 5 hours while the car is sat there, which they are not ment to.

yeah, reading back, the part should only cost a approx £300. The labour charges for this work is shocking.

I'd be highly tempted to try this myself, but the PDF doesn't read easy at all, and I consider myself fairly technical.

They aint called 'stealers' for nothing... probably their way of recouping the immense loss of new/used car sales recently

If your car does not have the most network forget it.

All cars from March 07 can be fitted whatever, so that is probably why they have said for cars from March 07 only, just easier.

Now the other thing is you must have an MULF2 HI module, this is the USB unit and is not included in the retrofit kit.
The MULF2 is bluetooth, voice and USB.
If you car has bluetooth and voice but no professional nav (business nav is different) you will have this module in your car and the retrofit is £230, you will get a harness, usb hub, cables and USB/aux socket for that price.

If you have professional nav then you will not have this MULF2 HI module, you will have the MULF, this is because voice is built into the nav so the more expensive bluetooth module was not needed.

The price of this is around £580+vat, but on ebay.de for sub €200 all the time, grab them before the price rockets.

I would buy the kit, install it yourself, it is actually really easy and comes with step by step instructions and then get a local independent garage to add the 6FL option to your vehicle order, anyone with autologic can add it and most will charge you 1 hour at most, but you may have to leave your car overnight as other modules will have to be updated first.

Hope that helps a bit?
My September E93 has the 6FL as a factory fit...I only have the BMW professional Stereo and I was thinking of having bluetooth telephony fitted. Does that mean I have the MULF2 unit and if so can I have the bluetooth telephony fitted
