Yeah, I'm going to merge them so it picks a TCU for you and makes it an option if you have an AT. Plus it's just confusing to require two projects.

Or are you talking about the DME/TCU? AFAIK there's only one program on the TCU, and you can't change to a different one on the DME without undoing the RSA delete, so it would be pointless.

but more broadly, yes, if you do a full car update it will erase anything you've done so far.
my egs still had factory 2007 software.

so I just did the update with the v67 datens and then re ran the batch file.

I'm not sure if it does anything for me honestly, but I figure that in the decade between the original software and the one I loaded there had to have been some improvements along the way.

My car had literally never seen an update before I bought it.

Well, depending on what model you have - the EGS only ever had one update (the factory one), so possibly nothing changed anyway.

ok, so I've updated things so if you have a pre-LCI, you get a download for the correct program too (hw_nr 7568553 / 0489RZ0S440R). These cars came with two programs from the factory, depending on when (or if) it was ever updated. Also, the 128i needs to flash this because they never came with 7568553.

On an interesting topic. I have noticed a number of 328's and 128's actually came with ZF 6HP19 transmissions. In fact, there's a whole series of chassis typecodes that only ever came with a ZF (all LCI - KE33, KF33, & DW33). I have never heard or seen one in the wild, but they apparently exist. So please check to see that you actually do have a GM transmission before attempting anything. I don't have an easy way to verify that, unfortunately, except the 3 cars mentioned which I removed from the list. And naturally, it uses 1024 bit RSA signatures so I can't modify any files.

Definitely did my GM AT filter and gasket, so I know I'm in the GM bucket. I have an LCI 03/2010 328i. So to confirm, the GM1912_A7587777_3.0SI.0da(SOFTID#0489RZ0S440R) and the stock 7568553A.0pa.zip(ZB#7585087) are indeed the correct files to use?

Yes. If your EGS already has 7568553 you don't need to flash it. I think on the LCI that was the only one ever used for GM1912, so you should only need the 3.0si calibration.

Something like telling people to check if they have a metal or plastic transmission pan should be in there maybe. I've personally never seen a 128i or 328i with the zf box but it definitely came on the 528s so I wouldn't be surprised if there's some around.

So if I have a pre-lci, I just need the one tune file and one stock file?

On realoem, it shows both zf and gm for my car, my car is 09/2006 build date. Mabye it was a possibility. I wish I was lucky enough to have the zf instead just for xhp.

Good idea. Honestly, I am not familiar at all with AT cars, so the feedback is appreciated.

I don't think they support anything other than the 335i trans, so it wouldn't matter anyway.

I mean, I just don't think the 328i is a priority for them. Is there really a 6HP19 flash available? Nobody has ever posted about it. To be clear - I don't really care that much - I don't personally like AT cars. But I'm willing to do what I can with what I know about flashing to help.

But thinking of that, there's probably an equivalent 3.0si flash for the ZF trans that could be used as well. But how many of those cars exist? Anyone here have one?

Well theoretically couldn't one do the same thing that was done to the 328s with the e83 x3 3.0si gm flash and do it to N52 cars with the zf box from say a car with the 255hp 3 stage engine and the zf trans? Wonder if anyone knows which file it is for say a z4 with that setup, not well versed with winkfp yet.

I'm not big on automatic cars either but finding an e92 with the setup and options I wanted was already hard enough in 6AT.

Honestly, I drove my friends 330 with the stock zf flash and it felt the same. I actually felt as though the gm was more aggressive. Xhp makes this a different story though.

and us pathetic automatic scum appreciate it.

so as a pre lci car, I should go ahead and download the program, flash that, and then flash the new calibration file?

I'll be honest, I just let winkfp do the comfort mode update so I have no idea what program number it's even chosen. I just shoved the zb number in it and hit the button.

I'll have to look in INPA today.

Check it in INPA first. That's faster than waiting 20 minutes for a program flash. If you already have the updated program then just flash the calibration.

BTW, regarding the 6HP19 - there is the X5 3.0si flash, as well as one from a Z4, and a bunch of EU models. I'd have to look and see which ones could be used, but I think first I'd have to see if somebody actually has a ZF trans in a 328i that wants to try it.

Just a note, there are two generation of the ZF 6hp19. Almost the same gearbox but they use a different TCU. GKE 211 first gen and GKE 215 second gen.

One uses 512 bit RSA and the other 1024.

yeah, it looks like all 328i's use the GKE215. Which is too bad since we have the key for GKE211..
