The Giulia Quadrifoglio is the most exciting -sedan with an auto - I've ever driven. The steering is so sharp and the chassis is world-class. Excellent handling with a smooth compliant ride is an amazing feat of engineering. It's almost impossible to upset this thing. Every manufacturer should buy one and reverse engineer it. I'd buy a new one in a minute if they could guarantee I never see "service electronic throttle control". Mine spent a considerable amount of time at the dealer for service. In the end, I gave up and live with the issues. As much as I love it I'd never take it on a long road trip. I don't have confidence in the car or in the dealer network. And I use network very loosely in this case.
How do you make a Fiat go faster? Tell the tow truck driver to speed up.

Just as a heads up the rumor mill is burning right now with talk of a facelift coming as soon as the 2023 MY. Sounds fairly significant with LED headlights, front fascia, digital cockpit and new infotainment.
Not trying to talk you out of a 22 but food for thought. Others might have more insight than I though. |

Congrats on the new S-class and GLE sir, but you'll need to join the Alfisti club at some point too.

I'm about to get back into the golden era myself, although this time leaning Japanese. Looking at an '99 NB Miata tomorrow. Never owned a Miata but having driven my son's NB recently it reminded me of the joy of light-weight design, naturally aspirated engines, hydraulic steering, and cable throttle. Best of all, it shouldn't leave any oil or coolant on my driveway like the Bimmers. Last edited by stein_325i; 04-05-2022 at 11:42 PM.. |

I've always been curious about Miatas, I feel they are my type of car at a great price. I'll have to test drive an ND at some point.

I think a Miata and S-Class would be a perfect weekend/daily combo. Both opposite in their characteristics but nailing their intended purposes. |

They are IMHO beautiful cars.
The missing tow hook cover should have been a sign. Dealer told me it wasn't installed when PDI 🤷

I have a 2018 QV and it was awesome.... If it was not for the 6mt itch. I would have kept it.
When I purchase QCV at that time. I did back to back with f80 comp. Yes all those cars were fast. But the alfa has soul while the F80 was raw. It just hand down alfa for me. never had a check engine light for me. What is miss the sound and the beauty of it. but what I want is a 6mt....... |

What do you call a Fiat on a hilltop? A miracle. Two Fiats on a hilltop? Science fiction. Three Fiats on a hilltop? A funny place to build a Fiat factory.

I really like those. Most modern cars are over complicated and a bit problematic so I don't think the Alfa is such an outlier anymore. GREAT engine, good looks, really sharp driving dynamics from what I've heard. Better looking than the G80 and it comes in a 6 speed. DO IT!

I've got Yellow calipers on my non-QV. Super distinctive, such a nice touch.

I hate to hijack this thread, but I have an opportunity to pick up a new QV at a bit under MSRP. Sifting through this thread though, it seems like now might not be the best time to pick up a new QV? Is that because of the facelift coming up? If so, what kind of impact might the facelift have on previous years?

FWIW I went from an M2 to a Giulia Ti Sport and love the Giulia in almost every way over the M2

The manual was short lived and was awful in the QV. The other issue with the QV is the torque limiting in 1st and 2nd. It's really unpredictable. If you hit the accelerator to aggressively the car just falls on its face. You have to roll into it. When the red mist is upon you easily forget this.
After market tunes can solve this. Given the thousands $ in warranty claims I'm just not brave enough to void mine.

While the handling of the QV and chassis is better the M3 is not far behind. Beyond that the M3 is better in every category. And if like me you don't feel like your driving unless you're shifting there's really no choice. I would like to drive a manual CT4 & CT5 V Blackwing….

Added a Giulia Quadrifoglio to the stable this past weekend and couldn't be happier. While it doesn't have the simplicity, steering feel, or NA scream of the M's, the Alfa is incredibly engaging (more fun at street speeds than the M3), scary fast, and a way better DD (great ride, quieter than M3, w/ modern safety and tech). Lastly, maybe it's just the new car glow or the fact that it's my first non-black car, but the Alfa just feels more special and exotic. Fingers crossed all remains good on the reliability front...If so, I don't see myself moving on from it for a long time!
