New Z4 will be a PROBLEM

On the face of it the DCT n54 z4 seems to be a very heavy car with a weight of 3500. I am really worried that the Z will become a SLK type of thing poser cars instead of raw performers.

Anyone has any idea if they are gonna make a M for the new Z

Maybe they'll throw the same V8 that is in the M3's now, didn't the M roadsters had the same engine as the M3 previously.

Yes, but times have changed. Stricter laws as well as market trends such as fuel economy will dictate the path of which the car will go through. Either the car will go through FI or if it DID get the V8 from the current M3, it'll probably be detuned so as to alleviate fuel economy.

I personally think that BMW //M should concentrate on weight savings, not 'more power.'

Sadly, it is cheaper to add extra power than to save weight... the E46 M3 csl went the "weight reduction" way, and ended up being a car almost 40% more expensive than a regular M3.

Perhaps they should just keep the N54 in there then upping the boost a tad, add LSD, a wider track, stiffer suspension, a hard top, and call it a day

They gotta stop improving so much on the current models every year. It takes the value out of my e90

They should wait at least 5 years before making any big improvements so that its time for me to buy a new car again
