I'll be in my 50s when I pick up an LCI G87. My 6th BMW, maybe 7th if the wife decides to get a BMW next also.

Great choice. My grad school gift to myself back in 2019 was my F87 Comp lol

They have ALL been completely dependable. Almost zero issues.

In order:

1996 328iS European Delivery (October 1995)

1998 M3 Sedan

2002 M3 (owned for 9 years)

1997 M3 Sedan

2012 335iS

2016 M3 European Delivery (October 2015)

2017 M2, current car

1998 M3 Sedan, current car (Technoviolet)

I had a heater fan go out on my first '98 M3.

I had battery cable issues with my M2.

Other than that, basic maintenance, tires, etc.

Not sure I'm going to be a buyer or not, but as a F87 driver.

39 and *checks bank account* makes less than $300k.

Income is only one piece of the affordability math though. If you have no kid expense and student loan with only a modest mortgage debt then you probably have the same disposable income as a couple making over $300k that have kids, student loans, and a million dollar mortgage.

Plus higher msrp doesn't necessarily mean a car is expensive. If you can sell your car with little to no depreciation, which I would expect to be the case for G87 especially with the initial hype vs limited supply of used ones, then it will not be an expensive car to own.

I agree with you on this as we fit into this description. We have no kids, no college loans, just a mortgage (1650 monthly), and wife suv payment $960 which will be paid off in 2 years.

No my dude, she got a Audi Q3. It replaced her lowly optioned 2010 Honda CRV with 120k on the clock. I hated that thing!!

33, turning 34 this year.

Currently driving a M2C but waiting to see what the G87 has to offer. May not go with a G87 though, really depends on the final product (the new infotainment system and gauge cluster is horrific, not sure if I can live with that on a daily). Option B is a CT5-V Blackwing with a manual

I'm 74, currently in a '15 M4 manual. Not sure I will get the M2, but I'm #2 on my dealer's list.

29 here, got my M2C at 27. Around $125k/yr plus side investments, no student debt and car nearly paid off. Sheesh if I made 200-300k I would probably have an R8 or something.

#2 G87 allocation at my dealer

Oregon??? Me too. Join the BMWCCA. The Oregon chapter is great, does lots of awesome drives, and has a bunch of M2, 3 and 4 drivers!
