That only happens when something fishy was going on.
You don't leave a position like that (FIA secretary general) after less than 6 months.
As a comparison, her predecessor sat there 5 years.

I really really wonder what was said in that private meeting between Horner, Rao and Ben Sulayem one month ago in Austin.

"when Danny Ric spent an entire weekend at Mercedes factory, he found all these documents showing that you may or may not have shown them our design charts. He also memorised all their new designs for 2023. He has hidden cameras in his teeth. If you resign, Danny promises not to say anything and he will have surgery to remove and destroy the cameras. "

Horner: ''What the partnership of Checo and Max had produced has been phenomenal to us''
Ricciardo is only there as a reserve driver should one of the two leading drivers get a ban or be incapacitated to race.

Wasn't her title an interim position given the abrupt /unexpected departure of her predecessor? Or are you saying that people in those interim positions are often in the role for 5 years? I'd assume not, but want to verify.

Then where is her succesor?
Usually when an interim position is ended, it is because the succesor is named.

When the FIA broke the news that Bayer left, Rao was already announced in the same newsarticle as interimsuccesor.
This article differs in that way, which I think is very perculiar, hence my suspicions

Are you speaking in general, or specifically how the fia works as an organization? My assumption was for the immediate announcement of Rao had to be made because it was unexpected and loose ends remained.

Makes sense that since Ben S team transition is complete, things can be managed at a normal pace without tying her up as a resource unnecessarily

By this , It's confirmed that Rao was a Mercedes spy at the FIA F1 organisation ...
And that's why Rao is gone now .

We've seen that Mercedes exploited the leaked information . So ,why Mercedes Isn't fined for using a spy at the FIA F1 organisation ?

It's a true shame for motorsports !!!

Sulayem should be thrown out for allowing this to fester for six months and fining RB for nothing because other teams didn't like RB winning? ha ha that's a laugh. Roe is now bathing in champagne with her pay-off from the 'fine'.

Are both viable options? (can you get new f1 mechanics and strategists? Are there companies who can train current staff? Who has that expertise?)
Getting new personell, probably the only way is to buy them away from other teams. That eats in your budget.
I wonder how expensive Hanna Schmitz would be nowadays. She can probably ask anything she wants when the Ferrari call comes
Every extra point Ferrari can score is worth between $260.000 and $470.000 (divide the budget cap with either wdc or wcc points, depending on your goal), so that adds up pretty quickly.

No one is currently a real challenger to Max and for sure he has to keep 'on it' to be one step ahead of Chas and Merc.

no different from your local high school football tournament where your kid's team are strong but the rivals are doing everything to gain advantage - dad president of committee, referee's their friend, rig the schedule, overaged players dispensation.

it's called politics

It may be called politics, but the fact of the matter is that someone within the FIA wilfully broke their confidentiality rules. This is not something that happened by accident, where someone forgot a note in a board meeting room or something like that.
Confidential information was wilfully passed along. And that teams actively want to recieve information which was illegally obtained says something about those teams. It must have been too tempting in a year that they couldn't beat them on the track.

I think that the reaction of Ben Sulayem is not appropriate. When he claims that it's normal that things leak out, it means he doesn't have the FIA under control and that he has people working for him that don't take the set standards for confidentiality serious. Admitting that "it's normal" is another way of saying "I'm not doing my job" imho.
