Possibly best SUV period. Why compare it to a slick future M car?
How does it perform compared to the X5 M? Have you driven the X5 M? Like i mentioned earlier I have read and heard that it doesn’t perform as good overall.

Looks wise, it’s a great looking car in person; at first I wasn’t sure until I saw it in person and it’s a great looking car.

I own an m6 grand coupe comp pack 2019, have owned 2 prior X6M (2011, 2013)… I have driven a base model X7.

Although I have not driven an X5M I would rate it similar to the X6M with a boxier body. That being said the X6M or the X5M current gen models are very capable gt SUV’s. I almost purchased the 2023 x6M prior to the XM however after spending time behind the wheel of the XM for some time now I would say it is unlike any other M and makes the X7 feel like bus. It is mind boggling how agile and quick the XM is behind its tank like body. Another appeal to me is the luxury and sportiness of the interior that’s unique to the XM which I enjoy a lot. One has to appreciate its looks in person while driving it to understand its capabilities. While at the dealer not long ago I met another XM buyer whom had just turned in his X6M to acquire his XM… been on a few chats and dude has no regrets although the X6M / X5M have no flaws or downsides but when compared to the XM I feel it’s a step up in all aspects.

I would also say the longer I own it the more I feel it makes my M6 feel inferior …

I’m waiting for my M6 replacement … passed on the M8.

I Heard BMW only sold like 500 XM last year. Porsche is able to sell about 5000 gt3 per year.
I'm trying to be a part of that gt3 figure too lol

Thanks for the write up, I really appreciate it! I have always been a huge fan of the X5 M and I was excited to hear about the XM but wasn’t 100% sure with all the mixed reviews; but you’ve convinced me to schedule a test drive lol. Anyone I know that has an XM has said the same thing, they all love it. I have not heard one bad thing about it from XM owners.

I also convinced someone to go on a test drive and they got back to me saying my review was spot-on about it feeling like an M5 in an X7 chassis. I wouldn’t believe it either had I not driven one myself. They are an absolute joy to drive.

To those of you that have the X5M’s and X6M’s, those are fantastic vehicles too (I used to own a regular X6), but the XM is noticeably bigger - especially in the in the second row. If you’re 6’ plus like I am, you can sit in the second row with the front seat all the way back and still have room without touching the seat in front of you.

I recently (last week) cross shopped the 24 x6m and xm label and really liked both. I ended up going back to an x6m (even tho it was a tiny bit more expensive out the door) cuz I just wasn’t ready for the plug in hybrid life.

I’m down to plug the car in to charge or gas it up but don’t want to deal with having to do both.

That’s great to hear! I actually own an M5 Comp and if that’s the case, I might pick one up. Thanks for the insight! I’m excited to test drive the beast lol.

Shame they didn’t produce it, would’ve been interesting to see the next gen i8.
Not sure what it has to do with the XM though. One is a mid engined 2 seat sports car, the other is a school bus.

I have an XM Label and it astonishes me every time I drive it. As hard as this is to believe, it feels like it’s an M5 inside of an X7 chassis. Sure it’s not for everyone, but I urge you to go test drive one before hating on it so harshly. It’s an incredible vehicle.

It does not feel or drive like an SUV. Go test drive one and I think you’ll be surprised.
My enjoyment from a car is not just based on the experience behind the wheel. The engineering in m cars these past 5+ years has been excellent. Much of the criticism however has nothing to do with the engineering.

They needed to improve the shut lines placement, but I’d had been a good design overall…

I don't care if it goes around Willow faster than a Ferrari 488 Pista, does 0-60 in .8 sec, gets 900 mpg and costs $5. It will always look like &*^% no matter good it might drive so driving it is irrelevant.

OTOH, this thing actually looks pretty good, not anything like most new BMW designs. Clean up the rear and it looks really cool.

It’s perfectly OK if you don’t like the vehicle I own, but there’s just no need to insult people’s rides. I may not like yours either, but I wouldn’t insult you for it. It doesn’t take much effort to show a little restraint and class.

LMAO BMW certainly did not sell 6k XMs.

Great point. Remember this the next time you post how good your XM is compared to something else. Because you’re doing the same thing you don’t want people to do to you.

However this is a forum that shares opinions sooooo maybe not the place to be offended by a person’s reaction to something you enjoy. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Enjoy your ride
