I'm keen to see how the ride is if you change the springs. Coilovers I suppose would be the best, but they are so damn expensive.
Anyone know why customs hit these wheels with all these BS fees? I mean whenever I've ordered car parts, for example, an intake, the damn thing just arrives at my front door. But then you order these wheels and have to pay all these customs fees. Is it because it's "freight" and not "mail"? |

dude, car looks great, but bonnet looks like ass, and even if u paint it, the fit wont be that good so it will still look like ass. i vote put the old one back and CF the roof instead.

I say paint the bonnet and leave roof as is. I've heard good and bad things about lower springs with stock shocks. But then if you also replace the stock shocks, you're looking at the same money as coilovers just about. Will be keen to hear your feedback on how it rides with the springs mate.
Anyone know why wheels attract all these import/admin fees? I shipped in an aero lip and it arrived at my door and the box was massive! |

Put smaller wheels on the car
![]() On a serious note ask you dealer if rolling the fenders will help. There is a lip (if you use your hand you can feel it on the inside of the guard) that you can feel and some people roll this using a special tool that does not affect the exterior paint. Result is more clearance for your tyres. But if they are rubbing too badly then you may simply need to raise the ride height of the car (not sure if your lowered or stock) or install a tyre and wheel combo that fits. |

I'm assuming it's only the rears rubbing? Is that a 275 or 265 tyre?
275 you will be in a bit of trouble because they are wide with the M3 offset. You only have two options because I think you said your offset is ET25 in the rear. 1. Run more negative camber. Disadvantage is your tyres will wear out faster and your straightline grip will be less. 2. Roll the fenders using a roller and heat gun. Would be keen to hear which shops do this. I'd start with option 2 and perhaps dial in 0.5 more neg camber in the rear. Are you getting BMW to do this work? I took my car to bridgestone and bob jane to adjust camber and they both said take it to bmw because they don't know how to do it...weird! |

What are you lowered on mate, H&R sport springs? How's the ride and comfort?
Looking more closely at your photos, it seems like rolled fenders may not entirely solve your problem, because those tyre sidewalls are wide! So I think definately roll fenders and adjust camber. A lot of guys in the US run M3 offset and do this no problems |

Ahh right, you've just had the springs installed.
I would either run sports on all corners or stocks, not a mix. Looks like about a 1" drop which is perfect... you wouldn't want anymore, especially with our crappy roads. I'm suprised the fronts are rubbing to be honest. If I were you, I would have fenders rolled and if necessary, also get a slight bit more negative camber dialled into the rear wheels. I would be keen to hear if you can find a shop that does this. Also make sure they use a heat gun as they roll to avoid cracking the paint. I see this as the only way, other than ditching the wheels. Also, if your rears are 275 then it's going to be very tight!! 265 on M3 offset is pushing it already. Plenty of guys o/s have run M3 offset with rolled fenders no troubles, so hopefully it should be the same for you. |

As an absolute last suggestion, what about getting the wheel centres machined. Taking 5mm off might just be enough. There are wheel repair shops that can CNC them and they know what they are doing. If you were in Brisbane, I know of a place here. The problem with playing with the camber is that it will kill your tires very fast so i'd go with rolling the gaurds first and machine the wheels as my second option. A bit more expensive but worth it in the long run.

*update*
i went to my workshop today and it was worse than it is in the pics. there are tire marks everywhere in the back fenders, more like a murder scene. furthermore they said rolling the fender wont solve the problem, since it rubs the outer guards. i have talked to the guy there and they are planning to machine the wheels little bit just enough to not rub. they said there is a shop in preston that have the machine. it would cost $250 per wheel at the worst case, so it might be lower. after that they are going to trim the inner fenders a bit as well. i will let you guys know what happen next. wish me luck ! |

Is the front rubbing when is turning?I suggest rolled the fender first. Negative camber is the last option if I were you.
If you have extra budget, cnc the disk like what vgr02 said will correct the offset and should solve once for all. I believe Nelson also can do it for you. |

I'd be suprised if the front is rubbing mate?? What tyres are you running 235 F and 265 R??
Something to also consider is flaring the rear fenders slightly which I have seen a few guys do on their 335's. Machining the hub would be preferrable though, just expensive. I was tossing up whether to get M3 offset and I think you have helped me change my mind ha! |

Sorry to hear that mate.
I'm suprised your fronts are rubbing because ET32 in front is pretty much the same as any other aftermarket wheel - only the rears are M3 offset. Perhaps your tyre sidewall is too wide. |

Two words will fix your problem.
WIDEBODY conversion On a serious note if you love the wheels & they did not rub before the drop then go back to stock suspension, do the M3 camber rod & control arm mod + some sways and I'm sure you'll have a great handling ride with really sexy wheels. |

Hey Will, if you think you got it bad, check out this guy with ET18
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ghlight=bbs+lm Everthing I read says ET25 is fine with rolled fenders and normal camber, provided the tyres have rounded sidewalls. Then I remembered the BMW tech told me our cars have some negative camber as standard, so maybe if you had a tyre shop do your alignment, your wheels are infact straight? I think if you roll your fenders and put in a slight negative camber (ie stock camber) maybe it will be ok? Just a bit worried about the sidewalls though... the fronts shouldn't rub. |
