I know Warren rules and his times are amazing, but I want to know how I can get similar power...On N54 this was discussed and here is Terry's response Here is the info from Terry "The JB3 has software and hardware "over boost" protection built in. On the software front, we limit how much solenid offset the JB3 can induce per a given boost target (other systems have this as user adjustable, on the JB3 we set it per map). As a back stop safety we also have a hardware limit built in, in the form of two 24 ohm resistors. The two combine to prevent run away boost spikes, spinning the compressors to the moon, etc. We allow more than enough duty cycle for say 15psi stock, or 16-17psi with mods, with reasonable duty cycle. But when you try to pump too much boost through a car with not enough mods, you need to close the wastegates more. Most reasonable people would just lower the boost or add more modifications. But some crazy people like Warren just ask us to change the safety limit. In this case we replaced his 24ohm resistors for 18ohm resistors to prevent the underboost limp he would otherwise have running 16-17psi on a 100% stock motor." Please discuss the effects this has on safety, does this have any effect on his awesome times? Is this why his numbers are hard to duplicate? thanks for any info... |

Driver72 did very well here considering the the mods and octane difference, nice job Bro! Mote's car is still very quick, and the dude is just flat out cool! ...and here's Mote running Hotrod ...

Thanks Bro, agreed those runs with Driver72 and Mote were close. I updated that post with Hotrod's runs against Mote, as you can see I completely agree with you, Hotrods' car is a beast!

holy hot rod..........but from what terry posted about the whole 24 vs 18 ohm resistors in his jb3. I believe that it does have something to do with how well his car is running. Does this mean that hot rod's car is that fast because of 18ohm resistors?
I don't think so, but there may be some good improvements on how his car performs. Also the type of mapping of the motor comes into play as a major factor. |

This 118.3mph trap would definitely be over 119mph if I could apply heavy throttle in 1st and most of 2nd gear.

Depends on the gear, but it looks like anywhere from 13.5psi to around 16psi.

say in 3rd gear and 4th gear from 6K to 7K... what is your boost like. I noticed my boost tapers pretty hard from 6K to 7K and if you are holding 15+psi up top it could definitely be an improvement on your MPH.

Well from what I have been told, my car should be making around 360-370RWHP?

Hi Guys!
If you are interested I can inform you that the two jb3 1,3(99 octan) cars at the swedish event both won against two proceede v3 cars (stage 3, 90% with 99 octan) , and all these cars ar heavely modded besides the piggybacks...

otherwise a lot of the users on this board would be trapping that high or higher it seems. I dont know if its your weight reductions or your tune, but your car is obviously faster than 99.9% of the 335's running the "same" mods. get it dyno'd

from what i see so far it seems the jb3 is a tad faster minus hotrod's crazy fast 335i...lol (a lot faster). I wonder whats holding procede back. this latest update is nice and fast. i guess I gotta try them both again.

but if you have been away from the JB3 for a while: 1/ JB3 is now very smooth.... maybe that that was one plus for the proceede but a few months ago 2/ with the BMS tuning gauge you can make your own custom maps and switch maps on the fly 3/ with the BT scanner and code reader (cheap btw) you can log ANYTHING you want or need, as well as clear all car codes. terry and shiv are just pushing each other tune, feature wise, hp, and pricewise... so we all win in the end. my 2 cents
