Here's a video to show how well the Wavetrac transfers torque to the wheel that needs it.

damn mr. 5 nice review and really cool video on the demo.

after installing the lsd, do you have to break in the new oil and change it at least one time again like around 2-3k miles?

so the oil you fill with at time of installation does not require any changing?

wow, I'm curious craig... how did you life ur car up and run it with one wheel
in the air like that?? seems kinda dangerous but heh I'd like to try that with my car! I have noticed tho with the quaife in situations on steep hills and curbs where I go in at sharp angles that one of my rears will lift and the car is stuck until DSC kicks in.

I jacked up my car and made sure that the wheels were aiming forward.
I then pushed the car to make sure it rolled.
This was done with DSC completely off.

How much is a new ring gear? why not just use a new ring gear on the wavetrac and go from there?

I'd like to add : This lsd is really quiet (mechanically).

In addition,
Doing circles (not drifting) with DTC off, the noise used to come from the rear tyres.
Now it comes from the front tyres. The inside rear is now planed. The inside front is now at its limit.

Makes me wish I could do this for the front.

You should do it more often. Especially after what you did in that video. You know even carbonfiber bias plates can wear, right? However, they can be replaced or bias changed if need be.

And in your view, what interval would you recommend changing the oil?

Initial change at 1 or 1.5K, then every 30K miles. If you are tracking the car, every 15K.

Harold, is it easy to drain and replenish? E.g. fill-up plug?

You will need to use a fluid evacuation unit to suck the gear oil out, then refill it through the same opening.

That video was to prove a point.
Also, my 50 k miles aren't like others.
I really doubt that the 100 freeway miles that I put on my car every day are really damaging to the gear oil.

Anytime you have friction material inside the diff, there may be some wear, how much and how fast is hard to say this early in the Wavetrac. Gear oil change is just cheap insurance and will extend the life of the unit.

Plus the gear oil does not get damaged, the additives get used up, and the oil gets contaiminated from the friction material.
