Doesn't another company already offer this for the E90? The website says it works with all manual transmissions.

Eugene, you got the one from E92 lighting? Post up your impressions! They just put up a DIY guide on that page, so check it out.

Sounds good Mr. 5! But how to defeat the clutch position sensor? On my 09 E92, the car won't start even if the clutch pedal is just released for about 1/4 inch.

Yeah, looks like these have already been invented... how are yours going to be different, Mr.5?

Personally, I feel like there is a LOT of dead space behind the engagement point... that little one they sell on http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...top-388-1.html and http://www.khoalty.com/E9XInterior.html look like they would only shorten the distance by 1/4" ...

How much does yours shorten the dead space, Mr.5?

I wonder what the limit is so that you can still start the car... hmmm...

Also, has anyone tried those available clutch stops? I'd like to know what you think about them... adequate? They don't look like it... but that's what I thought about the CDV's and that was one amazing mod

Sorry guys, but once I heard that another company was making it then I just figured that other people would go with that one.
There's nothing really to what I came up with but who knows? Maybe I'll crank something out.
It's just not priority for me right now.

BTW, that clutch stop that you have posted will not work for the e90.

Thanks. Looks like they've mistakenly listed it in their E9x series catalogue...

BTW, that clutch stop that you have posted will not work for the e90.

I'm still waiting for everyone to figure out this doesn't work. Mr 5, I thought you had come up with a solution for the CPS.

For everyones benefit: A clutch stop worth anything does not work with our car due to the CPS, if it is actually able to raise clutch travel far enough to be close to the engagement point then you will no longer be able to start the car because of the clutch position sensor.

Deactivating the CPS is impossible and bypassing it by jumping the connection so it thinks its always engaged does not work properly for several reason. First being that you cannot put your car in accessory 2 without starting it (or turn it off for people with comfort access as it will just keep restarting itself). Second being that the car uses this signal and actually changes some of the dynamics of the engine, including throttle response and closure delay (there is a delay when letting off the throttle for comfort and engine safety that is eliminated when the clutch is depressed)

The only other option is using a microswitch as a new CPS but doing this adds much complexity and cost.

Except that there are others, Eugene among them, who confirm it DOES work. Did you click the link above I posted? Eugene has an E92 M3.
