the msport wheel is the same thickness as the m3 wheel. the only thing it is missing is the red blue stitching and has a slightly different plastic cover.

^^That is the wheel I want!! Any idea where the original owner bought it from?

I am also guessing that is a different M3 wheel based on the stiching

thats a nice wheel.

its possible that the original owner might have switched out the stitching. so maybe it was an mtech wheel that had it stitching re-done to tri colors.

is it oem though ??

cos i thought mtec always has black stitching and m3 wheels always have tri color stitching but no perforated leather. i've seen a few members have perforated leather and tri color stitching but still have no clue if they are oem or not. maybe someone can chime in with part numbers and i can check it out.

For those with the alcantara material, how does it wear? How does it age? I am concerned b/c of the nightmarish issues with the e46 ZHP alcantara steering wheels. Remember, volunatry recalls? Honestly, those look pretty damn beat up after just a year of use. Is this alcantara material on the PSW any better? Please advise.

I've had my PSW for a year now, and it looks like it's 2-3 years old. I hate the damn alcantara, looks like crap now. Most likely going to get the alcantara section redone in leather eventually.

alcantara will definitely show much more wear than leather over time... but it also has to do with how sweaty your hands are, whether you use a lot of hand lotion or hand cream, how the climate is (humid climates are not good for alcantara), etc... lots of factors.

if you are concerned bout this, dont get a wheel with alcantara!

Thanks. My hands don't get sweaty easily, but my hands do get dry easily, so I do use a lot of lotion in the morning before heading out. So, maybe, this material isn't for me. That's too bad, b/c it looks nice and I'm sure it feels great WHEN NEW.

Alcantara wheel = driving gloves, period. If you don't want to wear gloves, don't buy it. It has more to do with the natural oils in your skin (hands) than sweat, dry, lotion, etc...

yea, it definitely wont last as long as regular leather. right now i am actually using an alcantara steering wheel myself. but i've only used it for a month or two. i am not expecting this material to last that long.

although my hands arent usually sweaty and its not too humid most around where i live so moisture doesnt get trapped in the material. this would certainly help make the alcantara last a little longer.

Don't plan on wearing gloves. Just don't like that. I prefer the tactile feedback from the steering wheel. I will have to pass on PSW. Will go for the tri-stitched Mtech perforated steering wheel...if I can find ont.

Good call. Re the feel with gloves, it actually feels great, no loss in feedback at all. If there was, race/performance car drivers would not wear them. Of course, the E9X is not such a car.

Re the tri-stictch Mtech, if you can't find one, just buy a regular Mtech and have a shop custom color stitch it for you.
