Most bottles will show the percentage. But -20 F washer fluid normally has close to 30% methanol. The -45 F fluid is about 45% methanol. The crap I have around here is about 7%.

But yes, if you have -20 F washer fluid you could add about 3 - 4 bottles of Yellow HEET and have a 50/50 ratio.

Are you kidding? But if a plastic line develops a leak that was installed by BMW I don't think your warranty would have much problem taking care of that. I was just wondering why this was not made to work on the left side of the trunk, and not directly above the battery.

Not to mention how do you even get to your battery with this installed? I know I'm being difficult and I'm sorry I'm not just a "yes man" like most others on this forum.

I mean its not gonna matter since Shiv has already made 3 other threads since yesterday about this new kit being the most awesome methanol kit out there...

^ as far as I can tell, you lift this up the same way you do with the existing cover for the battery. May be a bit heavier is all.

What he meant was the safety issue being the same as your fuel line running near the hot engine block, not warranty related. I mean if you're adding Meth to your car and it leaks and causes damage, it doesn't matter where you locate it, getting it fixed under warranty is gonna be tough.

The left side has an amp and other electronics and possibly the CD changer option if you purchased it... so not much room with out some custom fabrication and moving of components. The new tray lifts right out like the old one did to access the battery.

The amp is directly below on the left side which costs $1000+ to replace (trust me I know, although the dealer replaced it for me), and that's if you don't short out the rest of the electrical system as well. There is no "safe" place to put a container of meth.

Anytime you have a container of Meth in the car, the owner should always check the tank for leaks everytime or once in a while for leaks, but for me it would be almost every day just to be safe...

exactly, no matter where it potentially leaks is a bad spot... so just check for leaks daily and hope for the best.

Here is a interesting video in respect to the solenoid that is used...I guess that why Shiv has that solenoid so close to the nozzle! I think anything less than 1 feet would be acceptable, but in the video it shows a comparison of 15 feet between solenoid and nozzle, no solenoid and about 10-15 inches from solenoid.....I think Shiv went to the EXTREME just to be 100% effective!!lol

Educate us please; Is meth corrosive or what is it that makes it so dangerous? Its not just like having a water leak in that area? I admit I am a total noob and know nothing about this but I am curious. Doesn't really matter, my car is fast enough now for me I am not planning on any more mods.

why not just install the pump and tank wherever you think is best when you get the kit? its not like he's asking you to return the battery cover as a core...

its absurd how even when there's nothing to bash people will pull shit out of thin air just to get their shit talking in.

when the car goes into vaccum and the meth spray stops, the solenoid prevents the meth to be sucked from the nozzle because the selonoid closes the loop of the meth from fuel line to the tank..It wouldn't be a good thing if the car is in vacuum and meth is being sucked from the fuel line..

Deal on the GT500 fell through today. Maybe a tune/meth kit is in my future anyway.

No. Because the problem is with the meth leaking out into the engine when it's not needed. What you want to do is maintain pressure in the meth line as far up as possible (close to the jet). So when the solenoid opens, the meth is delivered instantly.

Shiv
wouldn't a check valve with a high cracking pressure do the same thing though? if significant line pressure is required to open the valve, i would imagine it would seal shut rather tightly as well.....?

not arguing here - curious....
