+1. Get the Macht Schnell or AR pieces if you're serious about performance.

Dynos are proving otherwise, he may want to stick to just installing parts.
Got your PM, will be replying soon.

I won't pay less than $4k for downpipes. After all, this isn't a Honda. BMW's are the best cars ever made and if you can't afford $4k for downpipes, sell your car and get a pedal bike.

Keep in mind that most eBay companies are interested in simply moving numbers, offering a subpar product at a cheap price. Offer it cheap enough and people will assume that they got what they paid for (settling for quality vs. price). However, there are catless downpipes over the $3K mark on the market. eBay companies typically will not provide any (or little) technical support. It's quanity over quality. Its best to stick with reputible brands like here on the forums, in which trusted vendors take the time to anwser questions and make sure you're fully aware of what you're getting before purchasing.

Just cause you bought a 50k car doesn't mean everyone is frivilous with their money. A large percentage of people who have large bank accounts usually keep their bank accounts large by bargain hunting. Its a pipe people! |

Personally I wouldn't put these $200 pipes on my $45k car. Did you guys click on the link and check them out? There are some rather pathetic transitions within the pipe sections, especially from the 1st to 2nd right after the turbo! It looks like a shop class welding project.
$600-$700 for real N54 downpipes is not expensive considering there are 2 of them, using complex bends and lots of welding plus a pair of machined flanges. I'm sure if AR etc were blowing 100 sets a week out the door the price would come down a bit too. We're not driving civics.

Ive gotten alot of exhaust on crazy deals like this from Ebay on many past modded cars Ive owned. It has been very positive for me and no problems. I do understand what some of the members say as far as cheap like the horrible intercooler for $399 that I agree. But lots of the exhaust deals are pretty good with good welds and so forth...Just my OP for $199 WTH give it a try..

Just FYI. We buy pipe from mills in China (large OD 26"+).. because, well we can get it cheaper due to labor. How is the quality compared to US Steel? Almost the exact same. 90% of oil companies use Chinese steel these days.
You want my honest opinion? I highly doubt anything is wrong with these pipes and they are priced w/ a lower margin moving larger quantities. However, the vendors here pay money for this audience, provide us w/ group buys, and generally go out of their way to support us. Customer service goes a long way in business. Because of this my money stays w/ companies on these forums. Last edited by ianthegreat; 11-24-2009 at 07:34 PM.. |

Just checked out their website and they seem to be legit in everyway, but the prices they are charging for everything is ridiculously low, and that makes it seem like its kind of shady...I wish someone would have the balls to give them a try...The most that can happen is having to take it out and reinstall it again...If I knew how to install DPs like it was nothing, I think I would take a chance at these, but when I do get my DPs, I am getting them installed....someone who is really experienced with DPs should give it a try.
