Still, it sticks out a little further then I would like. When I get new tips, I will probably cut a little more of the pipe back to the muffler to tuck it under a little more.

Our BMW dealer had another 335i with the performance exhaust installed by the port and they were sticking out just as far as mine. Seems like a design issue, not an install.

Hope that helps.

BTW, make sure that after the install, you drive it around and get the fittings hot, them put it back up on the rack and have the fittings tightened one more time - VERY IMPORTANT
Thanks for the tips....no pun intended. I haven't heard any other member with this PE install mention to do this yet. Not sure why?!??!

As for the tip location, I hear ya. And that's why I asked you. I think it is somewhat of a design flaw on BMW's part. Although, one member told me that the exhaust tips get so hot that they could potentially damage the bumper cut outs?!?!? Not sure if this is true or not.

So, have you pulled the trigger yet? You seem convinced on the BMW PE. I'd go that way too.

I was already convinced anyways but here's a heads up to the BMW Performance Exhaust fanatics

Why did the eisenmann sound so weak? That was weird

I agree with "Attractive" in the way it sounds. This exhaust has been one of the top 2-3 on my list, but the way it looks installed has almost killed it in my mind. I can't believe someone at BMW signed off on the way it fits. As its been discussed, I just can't get past how far it hangs down way too low and sticks out way too far.

If I bought it, I would definitely take it to a muffler shop to see what could be done. Maybe new tips?

The Bastuck is a similar, axle back design with great sound and HKS has a very nice sounding DP back choice too.

This has been discussed by me and others in various forums. Some argue that it looks "fine" and even "good", while others like myself have said that it must be a design flaw. Still some theorized that the tips get so hot that BMW purposely had the tips sit farther from the bumper cut outs as to prevent possible damage to the bumper?!?!?

Anyways, you can definitely get some aftermarket tips from Dimisa or Cyba. Still, it somewhat stinks that a beautiful sounding exhaust is not matched by the appearance of the tips...at least, where they sit.
