Being worked on as we speak.

Last year’s test was not conclusive and there was not a clear and major victor. The nod was for the PROcede but it was minor. This year we will most likely have a journalist as well so the writing may be a bit mature for some here.

In fact, a list of questions will be developed with a rating system similar to how magazines do. This will allow for a total score to be tallied. I have had dialogue with Terry on this and welcome his input; he got me instructions on how to modify my earlier gen board to the 3rd gen status. Of course I will also consult with Shiv and collectively, come up with agreed on questions. Once again, I welcome the help from a BMS customer in the Atlanta area.

I intend to do the non-BMW driver's subjective testing and hope to include a dyno sessions with boost recorded externally. Strip duty may be seen but is not paramount to me. Mountain driving and possibly a stint on Road Atlanta would be a welcome addition.

I'll drop you a note when set. I suspect sometime in mid-March. That should allow both tunes to be completed for the most part.

I want to keep it a single vehicle test so I will pull out my PROcede and install the JB3 I have for the test; which is in during the test will not be known to the driver. That way the playing field is kept somewhat level. I will head up north of Woodstock to some decent driving road and log data during the drives.

Isn't there an adjustment time needed for either of these mods ? How will that be handled ? Just curious .... GREAT idea BTW and I am looking forward to the results !!!

Thank you Scalbert!!! Any time frame for said events with completion times?

What I really felt from afar, that JB was missing was USER tuneables. I really like the idea of being able to tune it to my liking. But now the V4 reads and reacts off the DME which is percievably better. Again, I will probably have to test both myself as well.

EDIT - Just saw mid-March...I may hold off a tad to wait for you, or I may not. March is my timeframe though, I want to be done and tuned up how I like it for my drive to Mfest

Maybe some track times will show differently elsewhere? or some dyno numbers perhaps?

Car can drive like the best you can imagine, doesnt set apart the fact that its NOT the fastest, NOR does the "tone" as you call it show a person who is mature. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them and they all stink.

Show up with some conclusive evidence to support something, otherwise someones opinions, judgements, and witty remarks are like the next guys.... pointless.

don't want to be part of this tuner war or whatever, but as a forum member to a forum member, please do try out the PROceed V4. It's night and day difference from V3. I really didn't expect this much of difference from simple firmware/map update. I'm comparing PROceed V3 vs PROceed V4 not PROceed vs JB

Tunes have been evolving for a while now. Same goes for the Jb3, even comparing it as 1.1 version to 1.4 version to 2.0.

And yes I've been a pr0cede car and a CP-E standback too.

Damn...I just don't understand what all this hatred is for...I mean really who cares and needs to defend tuners...They are not personal family members...Get a tune, be happy with it and move on, but there are so many that need to show such anger to the opposing competition....Its getting really played....There may be some that have marketing tactics that you don't like, big deal...its part of the game and ultimately does it matter to your own personal life...NO...There seems to be alot of animosity from JB users....question is why?? Whether you like Shiv or not, there is no need to be calling him names...Just don't buy the product is the best way to show your disapproval of his product and marketing tactics, but there is no need to call him names...Plain childish!

Both 2.0 and V4 are great for a daily driver. You should try them both.

So, if you are not interested in some friendly runs in Mexico or at a strip, you can pick either.

So no one has had a JB3 car against a V3/4 car at the track, etc? Find that hard to believe.

I don't know about the V4, but JB3 2.0 isn't even optimized for power yet. Moving in that direction now though.

Lets just agree that both products are beta at this stage with lots more to come power-wise and feature-wise...

Everyone should just buy what they like and be happy with it. Mods can we close this thread already?

Procedes a bit smoother and JB3 is a bit more powerful.
I run both tunes.

JB3 1.3 and Procede 9-09 maps.

Those are old versions of each tune, and the community since moved on. So that really does not represent what its like now. Still I think we ought to put this thread to sleep no?

Gotta agree Mike & Terry from JB3 got top notch customer service. Even for those who bought used tunes from elsewhere, they will treat you like there own customers. Unlike procede you gotta pay to play and be served. Not great for poor people like me LOL.

If I'm not mistaken with JB3 release 2.0 you''ll have that flexibility also.

+1 Have been a very happy customer of JB3 and got nothing but praises for Terry and Mike for their support and customer service focus. Specially when it counts the most post sale. If you do come across issue(s) or have question(s), Terry or Mike usually will respond with in 15-30 minutes to your inquiry any day any time...., sometimes I wonder if Terry ever sleeps or got a life....

Keep-up the great work BMS
