Lets form a support group! Who is on the KASSEL?

My 335 is on my Kassel as well. Any words on if we can pick it up directly at the VPC? I'm SOOOO going to take the day off and enjoy the PCH (after getting it tinted and cleared braed, of course).

Thats awesome if it is really there, from the image you posted above it looks like it is at port, a full 3 days early!!

I just spoke to Harms who referred me to Ted Rausch's office, and couldn't get any real straight answers but TLR's guy said it is "still in the Ocean". He said something about the Maryland Harms office being late on sending the documents needed to clear customs and that he just got them so it would probably be next weekend before the cars would be ready to be picked up by the dealers, and then there can be delays before the dealer sends a truck. Basically he didn't really tell me anything specific, but it seems like the week of Dec 11-15 is the soonest we could expect to get our cars.

I work in the importing bussiness and receive containers from China at least once a week. From my experience every boat has arrived on time, never late never early. Im not trying to be pessimistic or anything for I too have a 335i on this vessel and cant wait for delivery. But who knows this my not apply to the Kassel but its just my 2 cents.

from that still screen shot above it looks like the kassel was near SD maybe its first stop is there and then arrives at hueneme on the 3rd? anyone in SD who is expecting their car on this ship?

I'm picking mine up myself from Rousch and they have been annoying to work with. They never give clear answers. I spoke with Chris and he/she (I couldn't really tell on the phone) said that they just got 70 cars' paperwork from harms so he/she feels really busy. I'm hoping to pick mine up next thursday if at all possible. Chris said he/she was going to call me when the car was ready. I tried to explain that I would like to pick it up and make an tenative appointment, but Chris said no appointment until it is ready. Then I tried to ask if I would be able to pick it up on the same day that it cleared customs and chris just said, "we'll call you." Damnit how hard it hypothetical?

They gave me the same story, that is they just yesterday got paperwork from Harms in Maryland and so they were going to be behind on processing it.
They told me it would probably be next weekend before they were done so Thursday sounds like the earliest. If I could get my cay by next weekend that would be awesome but I'm figuring it will be at least the following week

Here's a recent pic. It looks like Kassel is on its way out to sea so it must have already unloaded all its cargo. I hope they get the paper work done quickly. When is it fair game to start bugging our CA's about when our cars will get to the dealers?

I say we start bugging them the week of the 11th as they might start getting info once the cars clear customs and hit VDC....

That is bad-ass that the ship got in early. I hope the car is ready by Thursday. I am really tempted to bug rausch this afternoon and see when they think the cars will be ready.

On a side note, You guys know any good tint places in Oxnard or anywhere between there and LAX? I'd like to make an appointment on Thursday after I pick up the car.

If I were you I would tint it up in Seattle just in case you need to bring it back for some rework or defects.....

UPDATE: I just got a call from my dealer. He is showing on his computer as my car checking in to VDC on Dec 1st and his estimated redelivery for me is Monday the 11th. He will confirm with me the status of the car again on Saturday. Wow, I get to reunite with her in a week if it all goes well :-)

I just spoke to my CA and he said the car got to the VDC yesterday and there was no way I would get it before next week. I was (and still am) hoping for Saturday but that would mean it would have to get to the dealer by Thursday night or Friday morning.

Another Update:
I just talked to my buddy who works at the VDC and he gave me the following info on my car.

-It cleared customs this morning (12/07) and will be driven to VDC.
-It will be washed and go through inspection today and will be released for shipping (if there is no damage)(knocking on wood).
-He said, it will most likely ship out today or tomorow and will be at my dealer's lot no later than 48 hrs....

According to my friend Monday redelivery is looking really good for me.......
