I dont understand why people still buy... The Dealer I work for has never marked up past MSRP. I think thats the way it should be

It's nice to hear there's a dealer out there that doesn't gouge the consumer. Personally, I think it should be state law that MSRP is max purchase price on new cars.

Here in SD the M5 is marked up $30k and the M6 is marked up $50k (I'm not kidding) and they get it. If they keep getting the markup it won't change. The guy that sold me my car sold an M6 at $156K. He also told me of a lady who walked and wanted the best 5 series as a gift for her husband - so he got a check from her on the spot for the M5 with markup. Wealth is not always an indication of intelligence...

What's interesting is I was talking to sales person in Honolulu where the markup is only $10k on an M5. She said her manager would likely take MSRP. Shipping to the west coast is estimated at $1200. So that would be one case where buying in Hawaii would be cheaper overall than buying in SoCal.
