Still want a ride when shes done

BOT. Civic FTL. Supercharged, not a chance. Turbo'd, he better have spent a pretty penny (like 6k +) to get it up to par.

Side note, isn't 180 tq sound cute now? Especially since many of you are making 200 MORE than that

So you're telling me that a simple turbocharger is going to is going to give him almost 2.5x the power he has stock? I don't buy it.

That's one thing I hate about these forums and car people in general. When they mod their cars, they like to pull these outrageous numbers out of their ass. I don't believe anything but a dyno graph. My friend told me that the CAI he put on his Mazdaspeed3 gained him 30 whp. I laughed so hard when I heard that.
That depends on what type of turbo. Lots of Evos and WRXs out there pushing +600 whp with stock engine blocks.

If I remember, Car and Driver's "Long Term" Mazdaspeed3 got 27 whp just from an intake.

I think he would win if your car is stock and going from a roll. However I don't race much or know much about civics.

Dude there are a bunch of civics that run fast even beat Z06's and what not. But at the end of the day they are CIVICS...who care's if they drive a fast turd...still a turd.

But...if you still want to beat him find out how much hp he puts to the wheels and how much his car weighs. If it weighs like 2700 and your car is 3700 wet he will have a 100hp advantage due to weight.

Doing some rough math, you need about 350-360hp in a 3500lb car to stay even with a 2500lb Civic with 255 HP, and around 490HP to keep up with him if he's pushing 350HP but torque, traction, driver, etc are all variables

Oh, 355 to the wheels??! eh... probably not going to keep up then. lol

99% of the replies were useless. Thanks to those with useful information though.

1. He's not my friend.

2. I know my BMW is better and so does he, as an all around car. Did I ask that though? NO!

3. two scenarios: a) supercharged civic vs. stock 335 b) turbo'd civic vs. stage 2 335

I know most equate a 10:1 ratio for weight to hp, but that's not actual math and does not compute to real world results.

Thanks anyways guys!

From a roll you should be able to take him stock w/ his 255hp.. especially with your torque. I honestly don't see how he is going to get 355hp from FI alone without a full rebuild.

It's the civic mentality there and I understand.

The 4 banger s2000 motors are sick. I've seen turbo's larger than my head put in those. The problem is.. they need to be in a s2000 or gutted civic/hatch. You add any weight and it just doesn't have the ummph that our torque freak n54 does.

Yea absolutely not doubting a civic's speed once fully modded.

I used to street race when I was young and stupid. One of my buddies had this sick supra - around 1000hp. It was so disgusting.

One day this civic...looked like a piece of crap had come up from NY and challenged him. big money...you guessed it, CIVIC whipped the Supra.

We were all

+1. If I took the money from buying and modding my bimmer and put it into a Civic, I would have one fast POS that can probably beat just about every car out there. Just run the kid and shut his ass up! You definitly won't have a problem beating him with you stock and him 255 hp. Then tell his GF to jump into a real mans car.

EP3 civic Si is a POS version of the k20... if he has that supercharged then I would say a stock 335i will beat it. People assume because our cars are turbo charged they will have lag like big turbo cars but not so. If you race him from a roll you will beat him, if you race him from a stop the beginning will be a drivers race but you should catch him even if ure behind on the launch.

Turbocharged will be a different story, 355whp in a lighter car with a bigger turbo means he will have more top end and a stronger power band in high rpm's. I would say it should be an interesting matchup against a stg2/map 5 car.

Stop street racing and go autocross until you learn to drive your car instead of worrying about who's pedal mashing gets them to the end of the road first. Did you really buy a BMW and make an e90 post account for this?

+100000

being a preachy stuck up ass to people on the internet is never ever going to change anyone, or anything, posts like this are beyond pointless

i don't think your going to have a problem beating him in either scenerio

the stock k20 in that car is the black sheep underdog of honda engines and as someones already said the blowers for it are cheap low boost low power. i would highly doubt he's making 255 at the wheels unless it's been swapped to one of the better k20's out of a rsx type s or a k24 or something.

i ran a good friends turbo ep3 civic one time in my totally stock s2000, he had over 6 grand in the car, and BARELY beat me with both of us on a good launch and shifts. at which point he decided he needed to blow 5-6 more grand for a k24 swap

Ok dummies, then at least find the right forum. I don't see anything related to the technical drivetrain exhaust or tuning of N54s in this thread, just a street racer concerned with power to weight to traction of his car vs another car. There's a forum for that. This isn't it.

isn't that what we have mods for? You're losing the argument so you make an even more immature post?
