Ah, I see. So, basically the display reverts back to temperature when you are not on boost?

Though this might be trivial, I am not sure if I am following you perfectly. I get the road surface warnings when the temperate is negative, so I would assume that it would be okay if you were registering positive boost readings?

In any case, I don't intend to detract from this awesome advancement.

Cheers.

Great Job, didn't know this was possible. WOW. This is the kind of thing that keeps separating the PROcede from other tunes.

Yes. The temp goes off all the time here once it reaches 37F; which is like everyday once I leave the garage. This is amazing. I was wondering the same thing, why have it start in negative. Can you just start it at -50 or somewhere where the max boost(22) will equal 0 Celsius at readings. Basically, not have the display show a value greater than 0.

This is incredible. I didn't know the Canbus can give so so much access to information.
So with a simple click of the left lever, will we be able to toggle between viewings?
Shiv, can you make a toggle for a throttle view? Digital mph view? etc?

37 degrees Fahrenheit = 2.77777778 degrees Celsius

So in your testing, were there any malfunctions while developing the code to display this information? Affecting any of the other electronics in our cars. I would think that the other tunes have thought about doing such a thing.

Awesome! +1 on keeping the rixter gauge if u already have one installed for 100% dead on boost reading. I'm more excited to see that the Rev.II can display other datas as well.
Thanks Shivster!!

Not necessarily. We'll make one of the buttons on the dash a switch that will allow you to toggle through different view modes (ambient temp, intake air time, coolant temp, oil temp, boost, etc,.)

The road surface warning comes on a couple degrees above freezing. So ~2 deg C or ~37 deg F.

The other tunes don't have CAN integration so they cant stop diagnostic routines and/or clear codes before they even trigger an SES light. Nor can they actually read (through the CANbus) what is being displaying on the display at any given time. All they can do is feed a generated analog signal to the outside air temp sensor input and hope that the resultant dash reading is what they intended. And then they would have to hook up a BT tool after every single engine start-up and clear the triggered codes. Thinking about doing something is every different than doing it right.

As an aside, other tuners have gone so far to suggested that CAN integration is an unnecessary frill. As we've been demonstration with v4, it's not. In fact, CAN integration is 100% necessary if you want to offer the best possible tune with the most useful features. If that is not the goal, that's cool too.

Shiv can you have your boost display jump over the +2-3psi range so you don't get te freeze ding alert?

Nope. It displays continuously from 0 to -20degC (0 to 20psi). There is no ding alert anywhere in that range. The ding is at ~+3 degC.

How about posting a DIY for a standalone CANbus boost gauge?

Interesting, I would have to agree that utilizing what CAN provides shouldn't be considered an "unnecessary frill" but more so necessary as a parameter in some/most cases for tuning optimization at least. TY

Why not just let us rotate through it the same way currently we can switch b/w temp and the other things? Using the up/down button on the stalk or the button on the end of it, that you push in?

It all boils down to programming. We can make it as trick as we want. But we'd like to get it to market before 2013

Interested in the CANbus commands to read the necessary sensors, talk to the display. With this information, a standalone CANbus boost gauge could be tacked on anywhere in the car, right?

Correct. Quite a bit of work but something we will look into. We wont be releasing any IP though. Way too much work has gone into the Procede to make it what it is today.

Not to be a jerk but...

Can you send me the freescale source for the Procede too, shiv?

I don't think he'd want to share that

Nor does it have as fast of a refresh rate since we are limited by the baud rate in the dash's CAN network. So while it's a good solution for most users who just want to very boost readings, it's not
going to be quite the tuning tool that Rixsters gauge is. The real advantages if our dash gauge have more to do, IMHO, with all the other data we will present as well as it being another way to interface with the procede without using a laptop.

Cheers

Lol... i know. I think i've only see than once or twice over here.
Nice! we see that a lot around here. I am excited to hear I can turn it off and have the temp readout instead. I have a Rixster gauge, so I am not too crazy for boost reading, though I will take the rest of them. IMO if you are going to use an existing readout, there should be a way to say, no leave this one stock. But so far this looks very promising!
