If this is able to scan the same modules as the BT cable, display codes and erase them I can see the BT cable becoming useless to procede owners.

It seems as if the Procede is evolving from a piggy back tune to an actual EMS even though it doesn't replace the oem ECU.

Once you give users the ability to custom tune/adjust their maps to allow custom road/dyno tuning to their individual cars, the Procede will become an actual engine management system and I think you'd win over a ton of guys who are used to self tuning like myself.

sorry to bring up a dead thread, but is there any status update on accessing all the codes in the DME? IIRC, the Procede only reads and clears engine-related DME codes.

That's because only engine related codes are stored in the DME (which is the engine computer). The rest are stored in their respective modules...

I haven’t read the complete thread so this idea may already have been raised.

Since the Procede is able to detect all codes via the CAN bus it could also present them much better than know. Instead of flashing the numerical codes one at time they could be presented as complete text information, thus eliminating the need to write the down and convert them manually via other documents.

This should be an easy task and the functionality could be as follows:

1. Activate code reading on the Procede as usual by pressing the accelerator pedal fully once with ignition on.

2. Select Save Codes in the Procede user software, this is the new function. A window will pop up where you are able to browse for the storing location and name the file. The file will be stored on the PC as a .txt file, which has the codes presented as figures AND the information in clear text. To do this, the Procede user software simply use a conversion file that is located in the Procede user software catalogue to convert figures to clear text information.

3. Done. The file is stored and can be opened and read by the usual text tools in MS Windows.

This would almost totally eliminate the need for BT cables for Procede users and seems very simple to do. The idea could be developed a lot more of course and even make the Procede far ahead of the BT cable for engine related code presentation and analysis. Like e.g. propose actions when multiple codes are presented. But already getting clear text information for all engine codes would be great if this is implemented in the Procede.

It's going to happen. Just want to wrap up the gauge displays first. And then the user software updates. Only then can we get into implementing more diagnostic tool related features since we will have to implement another pull down window of activation commands in the user software.

Shiv,

I think you will win a lot of supporters if you manage to implement fuel injector coding in PROcede. BavTech is already working on this and as a BT owner myself I'd love to see more coding options become available to products for our cars.

P.S.. I still won't buy from vishnutuning but that's for completely different reasons...

Yes, this would be helpful. For example...

...just 2 days ago, I had new brakes installed. The PROcede could not clear the brake light triggered by the worn brake sensor (after a new one was installed), so I had to break out my BT tool.

So not just for dealer visits, but also for simple maintenance like this too!

Looking forward to it!

EDIT: Oops, has this been implemented? Is there a separate command for clear all codes? (goes to scan the command center functions).

You don't have to use a BT tool to clear the brake sensor light after changing the brakes. You can do it all in car.

Eesh, I hate responding to old threads

I wonder why my brake light didn't clear using the Ign On, depress gas pedal fully method. (Not doing it wrong, used it hundreds of times.) Or is that just for engine codes?

In that case, is Mode 3, Function 2, DME Code Clear the global command clear indicated in this thread?
