OK, here's my new plan! I need a volunteer with a pilots license. Get me over the ship and I'll chute down onto the Freedom and drive my car off myself. The Freedom should be in range sometime tomorrow afternoon, unless you don't need to fly back to land.
OK just kidding. That's not my plane. That's me dogfighting a buddy of mine via Air Combat USA. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes adventure. |

Well, we're one day away from the ship coming in. I think we're safe to make contact with our CA's on Tue. to find out what taking delivery looks like. Funny, this is one Thanksgiving where I'm almost looking forward to going back to work!

If the schedule of the FREEDOM is to arrive tomorrow to the next port, unloading process must be taking place since early this morning. PARADIDDLE can you tell us ? Thanks

I don't know what time it docks. Somebody with one of those tracking accounts will have to check. At 6am this morning, it looks to be at least 220 miles off the coast still. That probably puts it in port 10-16 hours from that time, which is tonight. My CA won't be in until tomorrow morning. I'll call him and see if he can pull any strings for me.

well the status on http://schedule.2wglobal.com/ turned red which means taht the ship has sailed from ny. dont know how accurate that is but its a pretty good sign.
Note: : Red ports of call means the vessel has already sailed.

Well, sounds like our cars are on land by now, so this will surely be an interesting week ahead for us.
Guess what? I had my 3rd round of buyer's remorse!! Just thinking about all that money that will be extracted from my account in the next 10 days or so....there really isn't any turning back because I want the car. I think just fathoming how much money we're talking about makes me appreciate this car more. BMW up! |

I can't decide what to do about my lease. I can either pay 1 lease payment to save on the interest but I'm not sure if there are mandatory fees or how I can deduct the expenses through my business (I'm leasing this car to my corporation). Does anyone have any expertise on this subject? I haven't talked to my accountant yet, other than him telling me to just pay for everything out of my corporate account and he'll figure it all out at the end of the year for me. If I do make lease payments, I'll probably do the MSD method to save about $1200 in interest over the 36 month term. It's a nice return on a ~$4500 investment compared to how bad I've done in the market this year.

I know that the line form NY to Baltimore is red but the date of departure is not until the 27th, so the ship might still be unloading.
I'm sure whoever hears anything first will post here. Quote:

OK. I just got off the phone with my dealer. He's sending me 5 kilo's of pure columbian. It should be hidden in the RFT's.
OK seriously, he's guessing that he might have the car at the end of the week and possibly get it to me on Saturday. He'll check again tomorrow and let me know. |

The only way you'll get your car sooner is if my truck has to go to another state prior to dropping off the car in Mass. It's only a 3.5 hour drive from the port to my dealer. Depending on where your dealership is at and how many other dealers the truck has to hit, I could have my car even sooner than yours. This is where luck plays a big part.
I already told my CA that I would have a nice xmas card for him if he can have my car ready by Saturday afternoon. I have a lot of driving to do this weekend and I'd like to sport the new ride for it. |

Hey, those are all good news, now is up to the VPC. I guess I need to wait a bit more, mine has to come all the way to South Florida. My SA told me next Monday.
Let's just hope cars get out of customs and VPC with no delays. Jeeezzz, is going to be a long long week. Good luck. |

I just got off the phone w/ my sales guy. He quoted me "4 to 5 days" from when the ship docks. Depending on how you look at it that means some where between Wednesday and Friday. I have plans this weekend so Friday and Saturday are out for me. He said that he'd like to deliver my car this week so that it appears in his Nov. sales.
While I'm excited to get the car, I'm not in any big hurry (sorry Brandon ) so the first week in Dec. is no problem for me.

4-5 days meaning that's when he can deliver the car to you, or until the dealership receives the car?

Who ever gets their cars from this ship please post a PIC in this thread. I thought it would be nice to have the journey documented from the departure to destination. Good luck everyone!
