I think there are alot of other intercooler that meets your needs of little trimming and 50% larger than stock, if HPF doesn't meet your requirement then many other intercooler on the market now does

not sure what u mean by that? most of the FMICs on the market Ive looked at offer adv and disadvantages over the others. You should be able to find one that fits ur needs. if u dont want to trim get Helix(new design), ETS or FORGE.

Show me one with factory C-clip mountings like the HPF. The HPF has the advantage of factory C-clips, so it's very easy to install with no heavy modifications. But...it's too large...

Also, a good bar-and-plate intercooler must have some bits inside the tank ends and inside the bars to help airflow. I suppose a reputable company has those, while an average company doesn't. So I would choose an intercooler from a reputable brand.

But it's too damn large !

PS: The problem for me it's not the trimming, but the increased turbo lag on very large intercoolers.

Hmm...I have the HPF intercooler and I didn't feel any extra lag after the intercooler installation, so I am not understanding why you are saying this....

Please excuse my ignorance, I do not know much about the 335.

I thought the cars were Direct Injection?? So, why do I see fuel injectors in the IM?? That would defeat the purpose of DI.

BUT, the manifold does look nice.

My guess would be tht HPF plans on taking the car past the stock fueling system's limits..... so the injectors would be there to A: supplement the current fueling system or B: replace the current fueling system.

Or......... I could be way off base and have no idea

You are probably right about supplementing. But, i thought they would find a way to modify/adjust the stock fuel system.

What's going to be most difficult is figuring out a way to use both the DI injectors as well as the secondary injectors.

I am willing that they use both, stock injectors and theirs ontop of that

Or maybe they will just go balls out and show up bmw with their own hpfp and injectors

There's hardly going to be any more lag than usual. The intercooler only drops like .3x psi. I know what you are saying though about having an appropriately sized intercooler for your turbo setup, but from what I can find...it seems like this is a pretty good match up with a bit of room to grow as well.

I’m in IRAQ man, yes they still have my car and for the time being it’s their shop R&D Car. They are using my car to develop all the Stages 1-3. Stage 4 they will do on their own 335i.
I knew HPF through a good friend and now I’m friends with HPF. They heard that I was deploying and needed a place to store my car while I was gone. They offered to “Take care of it” LOL HELL YEAH!
It’s cool; I don’t need my car so it’s no big deal for me. Plus I get the latest updates and info from day to day progress.
In the end, I will end up with a Sick ride and the title of the Very FIRST HPF 335I.
