Get a 335i and see what 6 grand can do. oh man.
We know we know, the 335 is a great machine but its not that simple:

1. I do not wish to sell and upgrade, Im satisfied with my e90 and even if I had to swap in an N54, I still wouldnt sell it to save the hassle. It has a soul.

2. 335s dont come in Barrique red, which is the color of mine. Its my favorite color besides white and red, but dont want another plain colored bimmer in those colors.

3. With all due respect, coming from 3 consecutive Nissan Skyline GTRs and a GT-T, I would not waste my money on a 335 if I wanted to go fast. 280hp is plenty to enjoy and have fun for my taste.

Im sure most will agree that theyve grown attatched to their vehicles and selling doesnt feel right. I bet you love yours too, you made it a beautiful looking 330i

Heres the scenario. I cannot get a grasp because of a lack of a formal writeup/diy, which is what Im creating. Hopefully with the mechanics help and my ability to write a proper DIY, you will be able to simply imitate these steps.

Anything needed, feel free to PM me. always glad to help.

+1 Ive grown fond of NA daily drivers opposed to ones with snail attatchments.

Good for you Issa, I (we) really appreciate the write-up. Are you going to be doing before/after dynos, or just the 0-60 times, etc.?

Those are some legit reasons. I understand. I just didn't want you guys to be frustrated like me due to power issues. N52 is so hard to get extra juice out of. As long as you are happy with your ride, thats all it matters.

I love my car like no other, but this fat girl should spend some time on running machine.

Thanks, I understand your frustration, then again you had a 330 to start off with, so I agree, it must have been such a pain to get power out of an already tuned vehicle.

For the 325.... its painfully slow. AC needs to be turned off anytime harsh acceleration is necessary or else the car becomes a snail, hence the conversion.

Mine needs to hit the gym as well

P.s., if you want lots of power, pressure companies to release Forced Induction kits. They can do it but refuse to which is rather unfair.

Since this thread is for you all, what kind of acceleration speeds would you like to see?

0-60 is the obvious. Something like 30-60? Name some numbers you'd be interested in seeing.

40 to 80 and possibly 60 to 90 for those occasional highway runs.

our cars are too heavy to take off like a rocket from 0 to x anyway.

+10!

I need to be able to haul around a 4x12 cabinet... so the sedan won't cut it for me and I loathe SUVs. I was spoiled on BMW as the ex and I bought a new 330i in 2006, but I lost that in "The War". Now that my current car is getting long in the tooth, I will most likely be buying a 3 series wagon at the end of the year. It burns my @$$ that the wagon is only offered in 328i flavor... in fact a de-tuned version of what was in the 330i. *fumes*

After doing this I'm just going to say that I drive a 330i... lol.

BTW are the brakes the same size on the 2006 330i as the 2007 328i in the US???

i remember reading that someone was running the manifold w/o a tune, saying that the stock ecu is already equipped to handle to the 3stage manifold. Can anyone verify this?????????

Yes that is true. You will find about a 8hp increase without a tune. I know of 3 members who ran the swap without tunes and saw that gain as well as the DISA values functioning on the dynos.

Can you point me in the right direction of who exactly did the swaps? Our top end really suffers and this would greatly improve it.
