Had mine nearly a year now and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and it goes like shit off a shovel and it goes round corners like it's on rails

I own a 335i e92, so I believe the handling will be the same as the 335D. I drive a TTS aswell on a regular basis. I'm not too clued up on the figures (whos lighter etc) all I'm giving you is my own driving experience of the two cars.... The TTS feels lighter when cornering. Not sure if i prefer it that way. But it makes the car more predictable....i.e you know approximately when you've reached your grip limit. The 335i feels heavy and and its harder to know when you gona reach your limit when cornering (maybe because of my runflats, iduno) However, the 335i feels more planted (even with the runflats...) High speed i.e 50 and above....definitely the 335i feels more stable and planted....I'm talking about motorway speed and straights.... You should have the sports suspension as standard. But I would check, just in case!...as some weird people can and do decide to remove that option!!!!!!....so they order the car with normal suspension!...just because they want COMFORT!.... Regarding, the engine performance...Its really weird that your not happy with the power as it is a very fast car, and especially if you said that you found your TT and 320D quickish....and as Mega said...your 335D would PISS over these 2 cars easily....and Shit on them aswell regarding power performance..., definitely you should feel the torque!....maybe the dtc/ dsc? |

The 335d will feel much more of a heavy lump in the handling department and even a tad sloppy through some corners imo especially compared to what you are used to driving, but performance wise it should be noticeable, afterall it is a 3.0 oil burner with two turbos slapped on it.
I've owned a 335d amongst other cars similar to the TT in design shall we say. You posting some pics of the car then? |

It's a funny thing, but I'm with the OP. I've never been blown away by a 335d. Sure, they're pretty quick and seem to handle pretty well for a heavy car, but they're not as outrageously brilliant as people claim. Not in my opinion anyway.
I've not owned a 335d, but have had a 535d M Sport and have driven both standard and mapped cars. None of them has been as "together" as my E90 330d M Sport was. Potentially this is down to the manual 'box in the E90 and my dislike of the dim-witted auto in the twin turbo cars. Perhaps the 330d is just a better car? Either way, I've said it before and I'll say it again, give me a 330d over a 335d any day. Matt |

I have a 330D and often drive my brothers A3 with DSG and the TT 200bhp engine. The 330D feels way quicker and more powerful. Only when turning into corners do u notice the 330's heavy engine.
If your 335D feels slower than a 200bhp TT there's gota be something wrong with it. |

hey all, this my first post here.
I picked a 335d last week, and also had a wheel issue, so have only just got the car back. Like yourself i have had a 320d and a past girl friend had a TT. But i unlike you, i am loving the car, it really moves. and if you drive it right with the semi auto gears, its even better. PS pissed all over a TT tonight. |

I was gonna say the same Lee!
I think the OP should let someone in the know (from here?) test drive his motor and give an honest opinion.

I think the OP is questioning the performance of a standard 335D....so have to leave the remaps out, no matter how good they are...
