Nice one. Know it's a long wait but not bad for Audi tbh, sometimes they are even longer! I had to wait 8 weeks for my E92 335d but it was worth it as I'm sure your wait will be.

Yeah, dull and dry aren't they lol.

Surely not for an Audi, I bought 5 of them new over the years and max wait was 12 weeks and that was for the first V10 S8.
Was that a pile of crap.

I've been told by the dealer up to 4 months in some cases. They don't 'stock pile' the non rep mobiles if you know what I mean.

They've hinted at a few months wait for the RS5.........mind you if I do go down that route I'll try and get an ex-demo, no doubt they'll hold their price well and cost god knows what secondhand...... time will tell.

On another note, I was reading Auto express long term report on the S5 they had and remember us saying it's decpetive how fast you're actually going? They said the self same thing. Wasn't our imagination it seems.

Just to make things worse for the wait my sister has just ordered her new Z4 today and was told a delivery date of 3 weeks, don't even think the paint will be dry!

Id say they probably had a build slot for your car, maybe they were getting it in as a demo and just changed the spec to suit you.

As for your sisters thats def a car that has been built and is on its way, takes about that time to get here from factory.

As you say the run of the mill things are easier to get but even just now they arent as easy to come buy, the guy i was speaking to at bmw a couple weeks ago says its even taking 6wks just now to get an 318i

Mid August should still give you a few weeks of sunshine......even in Glasgow

(my Mum lives in Fife and apparantly the weather is great up there the moment)

In some ways, a long wait for a car (or anything for that matter) makes it all the sweeter when you finally get it - i'm sure you will love it and appreciate it all the more after waiting so long.

To answer your question - i went for an E90 M3......and originally was told Sept delivery (6 month wait!) but luckily the car moved forward and mid - end of July is now on the cards.

Hell yes please, would beat the 'school' that is the civil cervice at times.

Yeh i think the new Z4 is a very good looking car. As for it coming in 3 weeks was the same for my mate who got a new 123d coupe arrived in 4 weeks. I think BMW just churn the cars out no matter what and change the various specs to suit, where as I think most Audis are all built to order.
