Chris Harris of EVO magazine, really did not like the car.
Quote: "How does it compare? A BMW M3 is sharper, faster, far more interactive and – I have to assume - nothing like as relaxing to live with. The combination of S-Tronic and 4WD will really suit the UK market. The Mercedes C63 AMG is closer in concept and far more characterful, but on a damp road its driver would be all over the place following an RS5. Which actually sounds rather fun. The GT-R trounces the Audi for speed and dynamics but its interior is nothing like as appealing. Anything else I need to know? I’m going to say something a little controversial, but I was a touch disappointed with this car. It’s nothing like as characterful as the last RS4, and for all its technical brilliance it lacks roll-on performance – ironically just the type that the turbocharged S4 offers. It’s a fine car, but a long way from perfect." |

If I brought up this example, it is to show that there is no real winner, it depends on what you put the focus. Of course between M3 Coupé, E-Coupé AMG and RS5, there is more likely to be a true winner. Now, if there was M3 vs. 911 GT3 vs. RS5 it would end other wise, 1. RS5 2. 911 GT3 3. M3 Because the M3 would be just between the Audi and the Porsche, not such a good all rounder as the RS5, but not so extreme as a 911 GT3. So, for this reason, if somebody wants to have two cars, it makes more sense to have an RS5 and a 911 GT3, and if one car, then M3. Last edited by BMW269; 06-11-2010 at 08:10 AM.. |

The my main dislike of the A5, and subsequently the S5 and RS5, is that the front fender profile is the exact same shape as the rear fender profile. I see it every time I look at the car from a remotely sideways angle and I hate it. I would have much rather had them flare the front a bit more to at least break up the monotony.
Here is a highlighted pic. The front fender has the exact same crease as the rear, and it drives me nuts.

I seriously believe Audi should release this car earlier, or give the option to people in the States to get a Euro-spec version.
I do not want to wait until next year, and by this August I want to have my car ordered. Whether that's a monte carlo blue M3 or a white RS5 is the same to me. |
