jeesus, it wasn't like bluespeed was 100% wrong, he was just incorrect on his time frame. but rather than Ronin politely correcting him, and offering what he believes to be the correct rumor, he needs to go into full-on douche bag mode and make a petty argument out of it. Now the whole thread got hijacked by a bunch of idiots arguing fine details and semantics. great job guys!
fucking internet. And back to the topic. some of us were lucky to get on Sprint's SERO plan and have 500 minutes with unlimited data and messaging for $30 a month. Though the newest android phones are not able to be put on that plan, I have to stick to a Blackberry, TP2, or regular feature phone, so I am thinking of switching back to ATT when their new pricing model comes out. But for the record, I haven't had any problems with sprint. I do have a bit of angst toward AT&T because of a past situation with their crappy DSL service that was worse than dialup and they tried to get me to pay for an early termination after I moved to a different area. In my experience, Sprint coverage is on par with AT&T, at least everywhere I have been. My friends with Verizon phones can't get signal at my house, so they are not an option for me. |

BTW, you didn't help the thread by posting your first paragraph....hello hypocrite. And, I don't believe it to be the correct rumor. I'll take the WSJ's word over some random site that bluespeed pulled out of his ass (not to mention, I've independently confirmed said rumor..helps to know people who are employed in Cupertino). The children need to go back to school and let the adults talk. Give it a rest.

Yeah, I apologize for my part in that. Not going to post in it anymore after this post (no matter how many other idiots come out of the woodwork).
On topic: There are several decent phones to choose from by each provider. It depends on what you need out of your phone, where you live (reception obviously plays a factor), how much you're willing to spend, and whether you want bleeding edge, or if you want something that's been around a while. At the end of the day, it's a personal choice, so don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

lol, don't be so quick to include yourself in that category. One thing you have proven over the last few pages, is just how childish you really are (as evidenced by your quick resort to name calling, instead of keeping things civil). So no matter how you try to place yourself above others in your posts in your condescending tone, your real level of maturity (or lack thereof) shines through. have a nice day, sir. |

i actually like the ATT service... only time i get dropped calls if I'm using the bluetooth while driving, sending a text while still talking, and also on facebook (quickreply lets you reply to a text while still in an app)
and that's only 5% or less and I don't blame them...text, internet, and phone all being used at the same time this is why I can't get it for Verizon... you can't be on the internet while talking... say goodbye to googlemaps and asking where to go... while staring at a map (unless something changes on the verizon network

Wonder if HTC knew about it and just hoped it wouldn't be widespread? If it's showing so soon, though, I'd think it'd show up in their QC tests. Hopefully, they'll get a solution out for it ASAP.

eh, it wasn't that much of a hassle at sprint. pre had its known issues from the start with the battery causing the phone to reset. and once cuz i dropped it pretty hard and the touch feature stopped working. it was fine in my standards, i can live w/ the phones. the network imho is unbeatable for me and wat i do for work. can't beat paying $60/month for unlimited everything, lol

OK...so here in the US, folks are iPhone addicts.
When I go outside the US, Nokia is far more prevalent, although there are certainly iPhone users. Personally, I like the Nokia N900, which is most likely what'll replace one of my current phones. Use an unlocked e71 and a Vertu Ascent (made by Nokia) right now, and had Nokia Carbon Arte and 8801 before that. For weekends/times when I just need a phone and not the work-related support, my favorites are/were the Ascent and the 8801. I like Nokia phones. They are great at making phone calls (the most important thing my cell phone does for me), incredibly durable (you can totally feel the quality of their build just holding the phone, and they do the text, email and web thing well enough, considering that if I really want/need to be on the web, I'll use a computer. But mainly, I love that every Nokia I've had has worked perfectly well in every country I've been to. I may just live in an old fashioned world, but my friends, family, colleagues and clients most likely will call me before they email or text me.

The only thing I don't like about the EVO is the extra $10 a month charge for 4G. It's required for the plan, and there isn't any way around it at this point.
Also, it looks like AT&T just released an entry level android phone, the HTC Aria. about time they got a decent looking android phone: Quote:
And it appears that Best Buy will start pre-orders on the iPhone 4 tomorrow, so if you gotta have it first, make sure you get in line tonight :P Last edited by mike-y; 06-14-2010 at 11:28 AM.. |

Nokia is good, just too bad they don't make any Android phones and for them it's Symbian to the end, which is just like Soccer, relevant everywhere else except for oddball like the US. N900 is such a capable phone, unfortunately Maemo is just too experimental now to really compete with anyone else in the US. I still think my old N95 was the bomb...front facing camera that came out 3 years before the iphone 4. Back then the N95 was capable of 3G and first iphone was crawling on EDGE and yet everyone was drooling over the iphone Personally, I am all for anything but Apple...hate Jobs with a passion so HTC Droid Incredible all the way

maybe some people prefer a brick and mortar store, so they can pick it up on release day? Also, in the past, BB has been able to take orders with the rebate already included (if there is one), so no need to mail it in, and wait 4-6 weeks to get your money back.

What rebate are you talking about? There isn't a rebate with the iPhone. You either get the subsidized price or you don't....there's no rebate to process in this instance.
