I have an awd 335 as well and I pull on E55's all day (I also have probably everything under the sun in my car though)...335xis are heavier and do have more drivetrain loss, but it is not nearly as drastic as people make it sound on these forums. I have NEVER lost to a 335i or 135i and I've raced many...point being, Im just shocked that speedo isnt moving a little quicker.

I highly doubt that you pull on e55s all day.

There was a maxed out 135 at my track last week, like maxed out,v4,meth,race and couldnt break 110mph.I was trapping 117 that day.

e55s stock can trap 116-118 STOCK lol

are you trapping over 118?

Im in NYC and have a fully modded 335xi 6MT with meth injection (I have an on/off switch) so if your down for a couple friendly runs just to see how much these turbos really add and where (how many carlengths in each gear) let me know! I REALLY want these turbos but cant justify the insane price for minimal hp gain....this is why (of course if your willing) would want to run two EQUAL 335XI's with EQUAL mods (With the exception of your turbos) to see the result....hopefully I get my ass handed to me and these turbos add many many carlengths (in which case Ill buy them).
well if you've seen my dyno (which I assume you have if you're interested in the turbos), you'd know these wouldn't put "car lengths and car lengths" on another equally modded car (minus the turbos). They are a modest upgrade with modest gains on pump gas. They allow me to run 17-18psi on pump gas to redline and probably 19-20psi with meth (I'll know soon).

if you've never lost to an equally modded 335i or 135 and walk e55's all day then you'll surely own me as well.

but in all honesty if you've been on a mustang dyno before and compared to non-awd 335 the difference is pretty big. On EPL's dyno a stock 335i makes about 20-25whp more than an XI.

My car is around 11.8-12.0 depending on the launch with traps around there. That is PATHETIC how that guy was only 110...was that a typo and you meant 120? Maybe we was a sitting duck spinning.

this is my car on map 7...I have no reason to lie about pulling on E55's...their VERY quick cars but arent able to keep up with my set-up (but once you start modding them its a COMPLETELY different story). Again, I have no reason to lie.

I put down 390/410 awhp/awtq on a dynojet on map 8 in 90 degree weather...I believe on an M5 nozzle....since then I swapped for an M10 nozzle (spraying about 1000ml/min) and am running a custom map with 17psi sustained...should put me around 410-420 in colder temps. You are right abou the rear wheel drive models putting down more power though.

@grkm3
- v3/downpipe
- V3 and a couple things

do the math...the result should be clear.

that day we ran the da was 2400 it was like 93 out with 80% humitidy.

no offence but the e55 you ran had no s/c on,more than likely his pump failed. Its a notorious problem on the e55s and way worse than the fuel pumps you guys go threw.

I ran 12.2 that same day at 117.30 BONE STOCK

there are stock e55s in cali that are in the 11s trapping 120 at sac.I just find it hard to believe becasue Iv ran like 3 different 335s at new englad dragway and none of them trapped over 114 there.

post up your time slip if you have a chance

thats not my car in the two videos I posted.....those are videos I found online of 335's with FAR LESS MODIFICATIONS than I do. My car is the one in the first video.

You ever run one on the street? Alot of guys at the track sit there all day spinning - hence the terrible times.

Also, in the videos on youtube youll see alot of modded 335's beating the e55 and in others (different 335 with practically the same mods) the e55 walking the 335, as in this case:
comes down to the car.

End of story, Lets not hijack this thread and get back to the EPL TURBOS topic....

well IM talking from first hand, not hey my car would run this and trap that.

My cousin just raced a member on here with a modded 335 on race and meth.I will post the video in a min.

He raced a k04 s4 on race and they were neck to neck.I just raced the same s4 the other night and I pulled a half car and almost a full car by 140.

edit and that e55 that lost did you read the comments?his PUMP WAS NOT working!!!!!

Im not talking from the videos, im talking from experience as well. I figured you didnt have experience racing 335's which is why I posted some videos to give you an idea.
JP sorry for the hijacked thread.

Anyways jp I think with meth youd gain a couple degrees more timing, and from raising the boost you should be neat 400awhp on a mustang dyno - which is VERY good

That's what I'm hoping for! My "baseline" was around 250awhp on their dyno... and that's stock turbos with catless exhaust+intake+fmic with stock boost/timing so subtract another 15-25whp for a real stock car and the delta is quite nice

I am also interested in how 2 XI's do against each other.. 1 with full bolt-on's Vs other with Full bolt-on's plus upgraded turbos.

And 0-160 km/h (0-100 mph) should be one of the best speed ranges for an 4wd vs my 2wd.
Regardless of my colder ambient temp (55 f) and gas (93 oct), your car would have crushed me in this speed range. Period.

Sorry, but I really thought a couple of upgraded snails would have performed BETTER than what I just saw in your video.....

k! There's really no point in comparing videos/races unless they are actually in person, that wasn't the point of my little fun run there but it's early and I'm not busy yet at work. 2008 335i curb weight: 3571, 2008 335xi curb weight: 3759. So more like 188lbs difference. If you think running in close to 80° ambient with tons of humidity compared to 55° doesn't hinder performance then you've clearly never done it (or seen the effect same car same dyno/different days). Then when you factor in the drivetrain loss (20-25whp difference 335i vs. XI) and how much more power it takes to make things equal the speed of my car isn't surprising.

Like I said early on, and like my dyno showed... this is a moderate upgrade with equally moderate results. I can run a bit more boost all the way to redline on pump gas. I made on average around 30whp throughout the mid-RPM range with more up top (5800+) compared to my stock turbos.

Once I have meth in a week or so the IAT's won't be an issue and I'll be able to up the boost more and make some more fun videos.
