I'll check another Acura dealer this weekend. The other dealer that I went to low-balled me on my trade. 14K for a 2007 CPO 328xi with 36K miles.

Ours we bought new in 2008, but at the time it was about $30k.
We saw a nice used 2010 AWD Sport for about $33k the other week. It had about 15k miles. Two-tone leather. Fully loaded. Etc... Here it is. You can get them with a bit more miles (still under warranty) for mid to upper $20's.

Any dealer is going to lowball your trade in. Sell it yourself, right now is a good time to sell an AWD car with the winter weather. Don't shop for a car based on what they'll give you for your trade or monthly payments. Always car shop based on final sale price.

But 14k for a 2007 328xi with 36K miles and under warranty until 2013 is very unreasonable. I'll check some of the dealers this weekend. Hopefully, one of them will be reasonable. Thanks for the advice.

I agree, you can probably get 18-19k private party for your car. But that's what dealers do, sometimes they'll give you a great deal on the car, but make up for it on the trade in. Which Acura dealer did you go to? If you decide you're interested in an MDX for sure, shoot me a PM and I can get you in touch with someone that will give you a good deal.

I say get Lexus RX350...good looking SUV out of the Japanese ones. I hate Acura...the new acuras look SO ugly. Lexus very reliable bunch of nice toys and roomy I think. Had a 2010 RX350 after 12k miles gave it back but it was nice!

My wife has been hounding me to get her the new honda Pilot... I dont know much about them but in asking her why she wants it, she just says cuz it has a third row seat and lots of room. WTF man, I'm really trying to get her into the new x3 and hopefully i can at the philly auto show cuz i'm not really fond of the honda pilots.

Depending on your size needs I would go with either an Acura RDX (small-midsize) or an Acura MDX (mid-large). Honda engines and reliability, but with higher end interiors.

I'm guessing your right, i still think the auto show will help us decide cuz we can sit in so many different models / makes etc. Who knows... Maybe I'll like the pilot

If you want the true value of the car, you have to do as 328 said, and sell to a private party where you can probable get ~20k for it It's a bit more of a hassle and you don't get the tax benefit of a trade, but you will probably be happier with the savings

Please say that you aren't thinking of making an SUV your daily driving vehicle....
Can it really be so that a BMW 3er wagon (or some other company's wagon) would not fill your needs? Sorry, but I just don't see the point of folks driving what are essentially trucks everywhere. (I'm sure you've heard all the complaints against SUVs as daily drivers, so I'll not restate here.) Have you looked at the new X3? It's quite nice and might well be all you need. That said, I've heard the Acura SUV is a good vehicle though I don't know how it differs from the Honda one. If the mechanical bits are the same, I'd get the Honda one.
