I guess i rushed to put the "yes" there too fast. I meant that it will still make the psshhhtt sound but i didnt mean it would be just like the manual tranny. You are right for sure though!

I'm digging the sound, as subtle as it is rolling at WOT, it gives me a grin. The only caveat I can cit on this mod is the complexity, though easy and safe, of the install. It's too obvious when you open the hood for me to leave it in when I go in for any service. They'd never notice it by sound unless the tech hoons around the block before taking it to the garage, but I wish it was all black and that the BOV oriented downward for a stealth effect. Not that I think that any harm could be legitimately attributed to the kit, but it reeks of 'engine mod', and I'd rather not even enter this dialog with my service adviser, especially for something as superficial as a BOV.

Will this still give the pppsshhht sound if the engine upshifts around 3000 rpm? day to day the noise could get a little excessive for me.

I was about to say I do not see the value in the BOV and Pssst sound but when was young and hip, we use to mount spark plugs in the exhaust pipes, rev up the engine and the hit the switch to plugs and watch the flames shoot out the back. Burnt my friend's legs once and blew out mufflers too. I think flames out the exhuast was great, just do not get the Pssst sound maybe I am getting too old Can not do flames out the exhaust these new car the burn fuel way too efficiently, the old muscle cars use to dump so much unburnt fuel down the exhaust. |

yeah, I have seen race cars spitting flames before, having straight pipes, no mufflers and lots of heavy accelerations and down shifting will dump fuel into the exhaust to be ignited.

My point was that, for me, it's probably not worth the potential hassle of explaining the BOV in the unlikely event of turbo failure, etc. Even if you're in the right, using the MMA can be sticky if the service manager wants to be an asshole.

I don't think it voids anything I work at the dealer and my car has been there for service and they don't have a problem with it all the bov is is for looks/sound. doesn't hurt the motor.

Exactly. Having a bov is like installing cold air intake. I have never heard anyone getting screwed over for having an intake.

A BOV is dependent upon boost, which is controlled completely by throttle position. If you drive like a grandma, and you are in vac the whole time, you will never hear the BOV. If you are romping on the car or 1/2 throttle where you start to creep from vac into boost then you will hear the BOV. On my current car I could daily drive it and keep up with traffic with never hearing it all day if I wanted to.
