The tug boats are bringing the MAERSK WIND into port right now . I'm tracking it live on the map: http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/def...ntery=53.5715#.

Is that recently updated? And on a separate note, I'm really starting to regret getting Alpine White after seeing that sea of white cars...

My week 5 production car isn't due to be completed until Feb-7, so it would take a miracle for it to make it onto the Maersk Wind... It's looking like the Don Quijote for mine.

#1 - The satellite imagery is not live. That image is probably a year old.
#2 - The cars are not all white. They are wrapped in protective vinyl for transport.

A year old? It may not be live, its definitely delayed, but that pic isn't a year old. When I took the screen shot, it was updated 36 secs ago that it was refreshed.

Um, the position is updated real-time but not the imagery. The image is the same as what is on Google Maps http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...04823&t=h&z=18.

It looks like the Maersk Wind has been pushed up to a Feb-11 departure with an earlier arrival on Mar-06.

I woke up this morning to an updated status on my car -- estimated completion went from Feb-07 to Feb-05, so I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping that it'll make the Wind -- there's probably a huge backlog from the end of the year waiting to get on that ship though... and the next boat out isn't leaving till the 23rd!

Argh... My car finished production 01/21, didn't make the Don Juan vessel that shipped out 01/29, my cars status as of today finally went to "transporting to the port of exit"! ARGH!!! Took a week and a half to finally get transported. It better make the 02/11 departure.

My CA called me today and told me my father's car (528) was shipped out on 1/29 and will arrived by 2/23. It looked like the car made it onto the Don Juan. I'm was suprised since the car completed production date was on 1/26. Strange huh????

I doubt it! My dealer ran an inquiry yesterday and the status was "193 - Arrival At Port Or
Compound". That'd be awesome though!

reddemon73 - Go here http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp and click "Track & Trace", put your Dad's VIN in the "Cargo ID" field and see what it comes back with. I say your dealer is blowing smoke.

cksv,

Can I use the production number instead of the VIN? Where do I get the VIN number from? 800's number?

No you can't. You can get the VIN from your dealer.

It's on the boat!!

Just got a note from my sales guy saying my car is shipboard and in route to Port Hueneme arrival date 2/23. Looks like it made the Don Juan.
I had called BMW customer service before the dealer e-mail, they said they have no more info on tracking info and that I could now only get info from the dealer side. After the call I had thought the car was not going to make the Don Juan then the good new from SR late this afternoon; SWEEEET!!!

Not what I was expecting but my car is on the "Talia". I can't find it on the W&W site. Must be a sister company.

Quote:
Hi Chris,

Your 335is is FINALLY on it’s way to the US aboard the TALIA boat. You can track the boat on this site: http://marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?level0=100.
Click on VESSELS along the top, and then select Search All just beneath that. On the left, you will see a search by name box to find your vessel.

Your 335is Coupe will be ready the week of 3/14/11. Any specific day better for you to pick it up?

Let me know,

Chris, isn't that kind of odd? It's definitely a W&W vessel. It looks like the Talia has just left the port of Emden on its way to Southhampton in the UK. Isn't it odd that W&W doesn't have the Talia departing Bremerhaven? It's also odd that the Talia would be arriving later than the Maersk Wind which is departing Bremerhaven 02/11 arriving in Port Hueneme 03/06 right?

It was in Bremerhaven before hitting Emden. http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/dat...MMSI=308599000

Where did you get the arrival date from? The date that I quoted from my dealer is the final delivery date that includes time at the VPC and the time needed to be trucked up from LA to SF. My guess is that the Talia will arrive in the first few days of March. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a schedule of ports for that ship.
