you'll get a real fat torque curve though - could gain from 30-45wtq

Well I'm only running 13.5, so that is fine with me. I like the fact that meth will reduce knock. Hopefully it will really increase my overall power.

ONLY on 1/4 mile days I will pour a higher meth concentration in (100%) but then you have all the fire extinguishers you could need standing by right at the track...so far knock on wood

My meth kit is hooked into the stock windshield washer fluid tank so if it goes low I get a light on my dash (washer fluid low)...i also have a flow sensor safety wired into the tune in case flow isn't right and it'll drop to a much safer map
its a little different than just a 50/50 -- washer fluid contains small quantities of detergent and ammonia in the solvent base to get your windshield streak free -- at least the concentrate BMW sells does.. i cant vouch for other AutoZone solutions

21psi on a meth map and NOT spraying meth doesn't feel good at all. and your car will hate you forever. so will your wallet.

detonation is the devil.......
youre alright, you sound like the guys that i grew up racing/wrenching with...

HAHA !!!!

i've owned 3 turbo'd cars since 2004 and won't ever turn back. detonation in any vehicle is bad - i'm a firm believer of getting the fuel 100% and not pushing the car's limits.

Trying to ressurect this thread.
Is there someone in this thread local in CA, LA area that runs meth?

Let's say you have a METH and a JB4 tune, are required to always fill it up and run on METH all the time?? or you still have the option to disable it by running lower maps sometimes let's say a week or maybe a month..

THanks guys.

You can disable it by switching maps. Or it will disable itself and default to 13.5psi if you run out of meth.

Odds are, you'll probably keep that thing filled and running all the time

i ran meth on my FBO modded evo x 400whp with upgraded turbo. the only problem as a lot of the guys have said is its a bit of a high maintenance mod.. but what i am seeing with the new kits like the pwm meth kit.. its easier to maintain.. i hated how my trunk mount kit looked.

I live in Santa Barbara and both my father and I run meth on our cars. It is not required to always fill it up. You can run a meth map when you want to and switch to another when you don't. I run it all the time though because its extremely addictive as you may have heard

I would say the only down side is - in my opinion - is that you have to be out of warranty. It is a pain in the butt to swap this in and out for dealer visits. Charge pipe, pump, Diverter valves, intake.... no way I would do that if I had to. Now I am out of warranty, who cares - my risk.

I think it's less hassle than swapping downpipes and many people do that while still in warranty. Definitely a factor though.

For the OP

There are many routes to go with methanol. Feel free to hit me up via PM or Email and I can explain some options that pertain to your budget or goals. I could always point you in the right direction if I dont offer the products.

Depends on your budget, I run a HFS-4 with custom -AN fittings and howerton engineering twin tank. Expensive setup but worth it. No matter what fun stainless lines and -AN fittings.

In my old e36 turbo M3, I ran "water injection" just for the cooling properties and protection from detonation...... But I would mix in 50% meth on occasion (like at the track).... And I had times lip evidence do the difference it made. MPH went from 118 to 121.
