I'ved used ESSO as well..and dude honestly for my needs I found no difference.

I'm not trying to argue with anyone - I'm just saying my experience so please people out there do not attack me

I have found almost no diff between ESSO, SHELL, PETRO.

Petro 94/Sunoco I did feell a lil power boost, but it seemed the engined roared more and consumed more gas :P

But that's just me...as you can tell by my posts, I am no expert at this stuff.

I'm still learning how to drive over 150km/h on my bimmer

Shell, i like the fact that they state there's no ethanol, and having V-Power is awesome haha

Trust me. I've tried them all in a little experiment (though not exactly controlled) I did comparing all my local gas stations. Shell 91 > Chevron 94 > Petro Can, in terms of smoothness and mileage. I wouldn't touch Husky because it's known to have lots of ethanol.

I could be wrong and maybe someone can prove it.... but I'm pretty sure that Petro's Fuel Savings reward card isn't such a great deal. I love their points program but think that the Fuel Savings card itself isn't such a great value. Just makes you feel good at the pump.... OOOOO I saved .05 / L woo-hoo.

If you do the math you save $10 on 200L but I'm pretty certain it takes more then $10 of purchases to earn the 14,000 points needed to reload the card. (Even with the reload being on sale right now for 11,000 points) I'm still not sure how great a deal it is. Yes they give out bonus points etc. occasionally on some of the purchases but I don't think it makes up for it. Save your points for something more useful then a $10 discount.

On average I'm getting about 9-10 points for every $. Total number of points from purchase / Total price of purchase.

So in order to get that $10 fuel savings I'd have to spend $1400. I'm no math genius but feel free to disprove me. Really don't think it's worth it though.

There isn't much feed back on chevron 94 in this Canadian thread,on the west coast there was a service bulletin put out by BMW on chevron 94 as to not to use it,is this still in affect ? What kind of reasons have the dealers given as to why not to use it?

I'm using Shell V-Power, getting Air Miles, AND 2.5c off per L (if you own your own registered corporation or trade name you can get a Shell business card).

Don't forget, with a minimum $30 shell V-power purchase, you get 10x air miles.

Another great reason to go with Shell.

Yeah, I collect Esso points and at 91 octane you receive triple the points. Equates to a touch free wash every 3rd fill. I have not noticed any issues with Esso 91.

I drive my LCI 328xdrive very conservative and consistent, my usual fuel consumption (in winter) is 12.1L/100km or 10.9L/100km in summer with 70% city/30% hwy. I use Petro most of the time since I get 5cents off and it's near my house. Once in awhile I switch to Shell and immediately I felt the car response faster, might be psychological effect, but gas mileage does increase a bit, can squeeze 60-80km per tank before the "empty gas tank" light turns on. It happened more than 5 times already and I'm sure it's not placebo effect.

The only way you would feel more response/power is if you accelerated quicker...........that would burn more gas.......Automobile magazine dynoed 335 and said zero difference in mpg between different octane fuels. Up to +10 hp going from 91-94. The only way you would even notice 10hp is if you were driving hard....and burning more fuel.
