Just reading the Turbo horror stories on this forum doesn't fill me with any confidence when im driving now. I have a 05 320d with 94k on the clock.
Do you think it's worth changing it now before things start breaking?

Just pay a monthly amount for the BMW Extended warranty, you can even pay as you go. Might be worth seeing if you can do this first before spending thousands on getting a new turbo. |

Just to up-date and ask for any advice. Organised a second hand engine. Garage went to fit it and then said the engine bridge had been removed on the cylinder head and that it might leak oil within 6 months and that it shouldn't have been removed. Does anyone have any ideas about this? God are we unlucky or what??

I can't believe BMW dealer had to test drive a car with a blown turbo to diagnose it. They could have potentially ruined the engine doing that, as could you driving it home...
